It's going to be a long day of ratings. Quoting Fox's press release: "FOX News Channel continued its cable news dominance for the 14th consecutive quarter and achieved its highest rated month in 2005, according to Nielsen Media Research."

"FNC more than doubled CNN's Prime Time average in June, averaging 1,723,000 viewers, up 14% compared to June 2004. CNN lost more than a quarter of its Prime Time audience with an average of 688,000 viewers (down 27%), while MSNBC averaged 307,000 viewers (down 18%) vs. 2004."

"In Total Day, FNC again more than doubled CNN's June average, with 896,000 viewers, up 6% over June '04. CNN averaged 385,000 viewers (down 20%) in Total Day followed by MSNBC with 198,000 viewers (down 14%)."

I saw an amusing sign on a hippy type store the other day..."Take back the media". So they know that they once had it.

If I was a CNN stockholder, I'd be really pi**ed that CNN keeps propagandizing for the democrat party, and nobody's buying it.

What these ratings tell me is that Fox News sucks (except for Brit, Beltway Boys and maybe Cavuto).

But CNN sucks twice as bad.

So does this mean that people really are watching all Aruba, all the time?

Absolutely amazing.

The thing about Fox news is that it touches on topics that you don't get at most other outlets.
Don't have cable, so my only Fox outlet is the local channel 25. They have been broadcasting news for the last 3 or 4 years. It's so refreshing. All you have to do is watch it once or twice, and you'll notice the difference. A local station saying Kennedy's remarks about our troops is wrong. Wow, taking a stand against Kennedy in Boston! Shocking.
If you think Hillary owns the MSM, you ought to see the power the deocrats have on Boston TV.

Maybe not suck, but they could be better. I agree though that mostly this shows me how awful CNN and MSNBC are and not how great Fox is. You nailed the shows that I believe are the faves of most freepers.

Would you prefer it if people were "buying it"?

Fox has the best looking women.
Fox has the best looking women who can read well.
Not sexist, just fact.

It really is amazing to see the death spiral of the left-wing media in real time. And it's also quite fascinating to watch them adamantly persist in complete denial that it is the left-wing bias that is the reason why people are tuning out. The left-wing bias market is as saturated as any media market ever has been.

I'm in Georgia but the libs own the media here too.

I purposefully watched local ABC, NBC and FOX to see if they covered the Durbin comments. Not one station carried it at all.

Local NBC bills itself as "Fair and Balanced". I'm not sure how they get away with using Fox's slogan.

Wonder why RITA COSBY left? Guess they offered her more $$$'s...won't really matter when (PS)MSNBC starts laying off due to NO viewers.

The only reason she became known was 'cause of the huge viewership of FOX...bet her days are numbered...she may try crawling back to FOX one day. (I never liked her 'cause she proved to be a liberal the day Gore lost his run for president, I found her to be another MSM idiot.)

The trouble with the Left is that their "philosophy" is so narrow that there are only a limited numbers of ways to repackage and sell it.

Everyone knows the liberal spew, anyway. It permeates the entire atmosphere and has for decades.

How can Fox lose? It has no competition. If you're liberal, you can choose between ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and Public Broadcasting. If you're not liberal, you've got Fox.

Interesting, we had Durbin the Turbin all the time here. Even the local news dragged it up. Fox covered it, but only to report the fact he said it, and that was all. Which is exactly what the story was worth. Now I'm informed enough to send money to Durbin's opponent.
