Massive FLorida FReep Needed To Protect Dead Soldier's Family From Freaks During His Funeral
multiple, Bos Herald, WCVB, St. Pete Times, | MB-26

Posted on 06/29/2005 4:07:34 PM PDT by MindBender26

This is a vanity post, but trust me, a well sourced one. (I'm an old network newsie and have about 8 more good sources on this than Rather had for his typeface fiasco.)

Here are the details:

A SF SGT E-5, James Stewart, will be buried in St. Petersburg, Florida on July 4, 2005. It's wholly appropriate that he be buried on our nation's birthday, because Sergeant Stewart gave his life for our country.... and all of us.

He was killed in Iraq by a roadside bomb, call an IED in MilSpeak. IED is short for "Improvised Explosive Device." It can be an old artillery shell wired to an electric blasting cap or just some explosives and a few pounds of rusty nails for shrapnel. They are nasty, and they are killing our men and women in Iraq.

His family has had time to get ready for the trauma of his funeral, but there is no way they can be ready for the latest insult to both his memory and all that is civilized.

A Topeka, Kansas freak has announced plans to disrupt the burial with chants, bull horns and signs that read, "Thank God for IEDs" "God Hates America," "This Soldier Is In Hell," and "God Wanted This Soldier Dead."

This is not a sick joke. The following is exurpted from a story on WCVB in Boston:

"A Marblehead soldier who was killed in Afghanistan is scheduled to be laid to rest, but a group from Kansas is expected to try to disrupt the services and police are on alert for any problems. Staff Sgt. Christoper Piper, 43, served in both Afghanistan and Iraq and was awarded a bronze star for his combat service."

"(The protesters) claim U.S. soldiers like Piper are dying because the country is being punished for its tolerance of what they see as immoral behavior, such as homosexuality. The group protested several weeks ago in Dracut and Lexington, Mass., carrying signs depicting homosexual sex, handing our leaflets with the message "Thank God for IEDs"

One little girl wrote them (the "protesters") regarding the pain they caused another dead soldier's family.

The protesters wrote back "We serve God; not your vulgar dumb ass. So we don’t care less what you think. We have one goal: publish. We’ve accomplished that goal with you. Have a nice day" (end of letter)

I would name names of these bastards and link to pictures of their vile signs, but JimRob doesn;t want it on FR. I agree with his position. Trust me, they are beyond belief.

These creeps are "protesting" at Sgt. Stewart's funeral at the Park Street Baptist Church, 3901 Park Street North (Park and 39th Ave North, about a mile south of Tyrone Mall) at 11:00 AM on Monday the 4th.

Since they want publicity, they will be there early for the cameras.

There will only be a few of them (they usually fly in from Kansas, but be on the lookout for vehicles with Kansas license plates.)

At some of their prior sick protests, vets and others were able to "convince" the sickos to vacate the area before the family arrived. This is not a call for violence, but I'm sure many of us can be very convincing when we see signs like these.

If any of us really give a damn about the men and women currently serving in harm's way, then this is the least we can do to support them and their families.

Sgt. Stewart volunteered to pay the ultimate price for our freedom. What are we willing to do for him?

Do these nutbars have actual services at their alleged "church"? That may be the best place for the Freep.

Paging some Topeka FReepers to E Rocc's great suggestion at #122.

I normally would be against FReeping (i.e., having a peaceful protest outside) a church, but when these sickos go to people's funerals, that's really so over the top that I don't even consider them to be a church. It was outrageous enough when they picketing the funerals of gays, but now they are directing this same slimey behavior at our troops, those who died for our country.

If any of the Topeka or other Kansas FReepers want to organize a FReep to counter Fred Phelps' insults to our fallen troops, I would be happy to answer questions about how it's done, albeit from my experience with numerous FReeps in the DC area such as our planned FReep of Code Pinko sickos doing a weekly blood-dance at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, see http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1433390/posts

Which FReeper in Kansas cares enough to start a peaceful campaign to counter Phelps' traitorous hate-mongering?

If they did this at my loved one's funeral. I would be out of jail before they got out of the hospital.

"Why are they picking on this particular soldier?"

Being July 4th I guess. Maybe we all should check for any other July 4th burials of military to make sure they aren't doing this elsewhere.

These freaks showed up at a funeral for a Special Forces soldier from Marblehead Massachusetts. You would not believe the horrible signs they carried.
One read ' Fag Body Bag '
I understand the mounted police surrounded them at one point but turned the horses around so their hind end was facing the so called protesters.
But still...no one has the right to do this at anyone funeral. All I could think about was the man's mother and father seeing those signs.

Was Sgt Stewart a Medic? I see the scissors on his vest.

God Bless him and the family.

Those people from Kansas, should be kicked all the way back to Kansas.

The demented Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), also known as the "God hates fags" so-called church, is doing this at funerals of other troops and are planning a July 11 protest at Dover AFB, Delaware, site where the bodies of dead troops arrive in the U.S.

I think that we need to make it a priority to peacefully oppose the WBC at troop funerals.

WBC claim that their church was bombed with IEDs made by "fag students" at Washburn University. They blame all of America for the alleged bombing, but their website is so filled with delusional thought, paranoia, and hatred that it's hard to know if their church was really bombed or someone opened a soda can that had been shaken up.

WBC now say "The American Army is a fag Army" on their http://www.GodHatesAmerica.com website, companion to their http://www.GodHatesFags.com website. They recite how Pope John Paul II and Ronald Reagan are both in hell and how Rev. Billy Graham will soon be there.

I do not have a picture, but Fred Phelps supposedly was onstage with Al Gore in 2000 at a fundraiser.

IOW, Phelps is a DEMOCRAT!!!!

He sure as hell is not a right-winger.

We need to hang the fact that Phelps is a 'Rat around his neck and make him wear it!!!

I stand corrected. 1988, not 2000.

Those people [i.e.,Fred Phelps and his hate church members] from Kansas, should be kicked all the way back to Kansas to GITMO. Then again, they hate this country. Maybe Castro or Kim Il-sung of North Korea have a gulag waiting for them, rather than letting them relax at Club GITMO.

Baptist churches are independent from eachother. They do what they want. It's not like the Catholic church.

"WBC to picket the old Hell-bound false prophet Billy Graham at his "last" three crusades (he's had more final tours than Cher) -- Oct. 7-10, Arrowhead stadium, Kansas City, Mo.; Nov. 18-21, Rose Bowl, Pasedena; and, June 2005, Madison Square Garden, NYC -- in religious protest & warning: "God is not mocked! "God Hates Fags! & Fag-Enablers! Ergo, God hates Graham, his 483 employees & associates, & donors giving him $85 million/year! "

I saw a white guy at the BG Crusade in NY last weekend holding a sign that stated, "Billy Graham is sending people to hell. Don't be deceived." People ignored them except for a small group that was praying for him. He looked normal but totally out of place. Two cops stoof near him too.

These people, whoever they are, are VERY VERY sick.

Thanks for letting me know that. I didn't realize this was the case.
Maybe there should be a "home office" to run some of these idiots out. Or, at least let the media know, via press releases, what the majority of the faith think of them.
