FLOYD, IA A massive search resumed on Saturday for 5-year-old Evelyn Miller. Ten investigators from the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation were interviewing anyone connected with the small child, including those living in her apartment building, said Sheriff Rick Lynch.
"We need to rule everyone out," he said at noon Saturday. "Right now, we have no clue what happened to her."
More than 100 volunteers from all over northeast and north central Iowa searched the corn and soybean fields surrounding the apartment building, located two miles south of Floyd.
Search planes and even horses from Osage were being utilized.
Creeks and waterways were getting special attention, said Lynch, adding that the search was also being conducted by air.
Lynch said unless the girl was found through other means, the search would continue through the weekend.
"We aren't anywhere near considering an end to this search," he said Saturday morning.
Evelyn, the daughter of Noel Miller and Andy Christie, was last seen at 2 a.m. Friday morning by two men, friends of Miller's fiance.
She was discovered missing from her mother's apartment in rural Floyd when her mother returned home from work at the Nora Springs Care Center, about 6:30 a.m.
Miller's fiance, Casey Fredericksen, was sleeping in the apartment, as were Miller's other two children, when Evelyn vanished.
Miller, 21, said upon her arrival, she noticed the apartment door standing ajar and Evelyn missing. She immediately contacted authorities.
The search got under way shortly thereafter. By 7 p.m. Friday, more than 100 volunteers were on the scene.
An Amber Alert has not been issued, since there is no suspect or suspect vehicle identified, according to Lynch.
May our Lord grant they find her alive. Where is FNC report on this. They've spent hour after hour on the Aurba case.
An innocent child is lost and You are her only hope to be found. We pray for Your tremendous mercy and compassion for this precious little one, that You would lead searchers to her and rescue her from all harm and danger. Comfort her through the night and give Your angels charge over her. We pray for victory in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
So, while Midwest White-trash mommy is shacking up with her fiance, little Evelyn is apparently out somewhere with two adult men at two in the morning.
Hmmmm ... Wonder how a crystal meph pipe will figure into this.
Prayers lifted.
Please keep me posted, Keith.
To be fair, the mom was working a night shift and discovered her daughter missing when she got home from work at 6:30 a.m.
I've had Fox on all day. Because I searched online I discovered that the missing 4-year-old Oregon boy had been found dead and the step-grandmother arrested. Even in finding the girl in Idaho they've followed up with heavy Aruba coverage. Here we are with another missing child and I hear that the Dutch are sending jets to Aruba to find the missing teen.
I just don't watch the news anymore, FNC included. Sensationalism sells. Personally, I don't feel like buying. There are tons of people who go missing every day. Each one is of value to somebody, but to watch the news, one would think that only attractive young white females are the only ones of value.
Wow, where did you get all that from? It says that the mother works nights and found her missing when she returned home from work.
Missing person ping.
No picture provided at this time.
Iowa FReepers please be especially alert.
Blessings,
trussell
If you want on/off my missing person ping list, please let me know. All requests happily honored.
Amen to Faith's prayer.
Floyd is slightly NE of Des Moines and about 50 miles south of the MN border.
Ha, FNC? They get on an issue and they won't let it go for nothin.
When they start their barrage with the Supreme Court nominee issue I'll be a non-viewer. They'll bring in untold number of experts who will be only guessing . Something even I can do.
I join in prayer for this little girl's safe return!

We still don't know anything," said Floyd County Sheriff Rick Lynch late Saturday afternoon. "We wish we did."
No suspects have been identified, he said.
The search, called off for the day at 8 p.m., will resume early today.
Lynch said today's effort will be overseen by Paul Burke from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, an expert on searches. Burke, from Carson City, Nev., arrived Saturday night to brief those leading the search.
"We are very lucky to have his help," Lynch said.
Lynch added that Evelyn's picture has been posted at the center's Web site, "which just gives us really good national exposure," he said.
Thank you very much Keith!
I don't understand, however the fact that she was last seen by two friends of the fiance; and he was supposedly asleep? Were they at the apartment when everyone else was sleeping?
How very odd.
I just read through your links and found this...ugh!
These cases should always be the main focus of the news every night.
