Six decades ago, a 21-year-old Navy fighter pilot on a mission over the Pacific was shot down by Japanese artillery. His name might have been forgotten, were it not for 6-year-old James Leininger.
Quite a few people — including those who knew the fighter pilot — think James is the pilot, reincarnated.
James' parents, Andrea and Bruce, a highly educated, modern couple, say they are "probably the people least likely to have a scenario like this pop up in their lives."
But over time, they have become convinced their little son has had a former life.
From an early age, James would play with nothing else but planes, his parents say. But when he was 2, they said the planes their son loved began to give him regular nightmares.
"I'd wake him up and he'd be screaming," Andrea told "Primetime Live" co-anchor Chris Cuomo. She said when she asked her son what he was dreaming about, he would say, "Airplane crash on fire, little man can't get out."
Reality Check
Andrea says her mom was the first to suggest James was remembering a past life.
At first, Andrea says she was doubtful. James was only watching kids' shows, his parents say, and they weren't watching World War II documentaries or conversing about military history.
But as time went by, Andrea began to wonder what to believe. In one video of James at age 3, he goes over a plane as if he's doing a preflight check.
Another time, Andrea said, she bought him a toy plane, and pointed out what appeared to be a bomb on its underside. She says James corrected her, and told her it was a drop tank. "I'd never heard of a drop tank," she said. "I didn't know what a drop tank was."

I wonder if they have Discovery - Wings. Watch that cable channel about 30 minutes and you'll know all about "drop tanks".
This family lives in my town. This was pretty big in the news about a year ago but has pretty much faded away. He was featured on Coast-to-Coast AM one night, but it seems the celebrity has pretty much dimmed. The story is pretty spooky....
Parents also smoke too much crack...according to sources.
These days I feel like I am a reincarnated Vietnam Vet come back with a vengence to kick the crap out of some uneducated, agenda driven, vile hippies (or democrats for short)

I'm not even disputing the "authenticity" of this story. I'm just asking if it belongs on a supposedly journalistic program. Why doesn't ABC just bring back "Ripley's Believe It or Not" if they want to run stories like this?
A few decades from now some little kid is gonna have nightmares about driving off a bridge while in a drunken, lustful stupor. He'll then run out the door, screaming about needing a lawyer. When his parents wake him up, he'll say, "Uh, I, uh, was in the car, uh, when it, uh, went off the, uh, bridge....I, uh, am in no way, uh, responsible for, uh, the death of that girl, uh, who just, uh, happened to be, uh, in the car."
He'll say this, of course, in a Boston accent.

If this story is true, it is reassuring that Americans can be reincarnated as Americans. I would hate to be reincarnated in some jacked up place like the middle east or africa.
I wonder how much money these people think they can make off stories like this one?
Well if George Noory has signed off on this, then it has to be true. He's not one to entertain kooky notions or weird guests, now is he?
That's nothing. One of my cats believes he is a reincarnated sabre tooth and tries to bring-down cows, deer, and anyone dressed in skins and carrying a spear...

They could probably make more money if they started a TV show with some woman with too much make-up and fake eyelashes crying every show....
Maybe add a choir in the background...
