Ted Kennedy with another girlfriend going for a dip somewhere?

No, that would have been down by the Tidal Basin, near the Wilbur Mills memorial boat ramp...

When I was in college we had a bomb scare. Someone called it in at 3AM to the girls dorm. It was 40 degrees outside. We all had to stand around in the parking lot wearing our pajamas and freezing to death while they checked the building. Of course, there was no bomb. Who could have done such a thing? Possiby the boys hiding in the bushes across from the dorm taking pictures of us! It was a small Christian university. This happened when I was a freshman. These pictures were still circulating my senior year.

I think the guard was doing what he could do, at least without spending his own money.

His best was moronic. Going through the motions. It doesn't cost anything to look inside the box, the front is clear plastic.

He shouldn't have to even be dealing with the situation,

Of course he should, that's his job. To protect the rights of the people. Otherwise, fire him and use the money for something else.

because the real issue is; why are there locking newspaper boxes in the train station, or even in close proximity?

Ummm, so people can buy a newspaper to read on their commute?

Do they have unattended storage lockers too?

NO.

Time for these items to pass into history.

What a shame, some towelhead fanatics win by changing our whole society instead of us doing what it really takes to defend ourselves.

Now that you mention it, you're right.

It must be a mirror image of what's on the old $10.

>>>He didn't look inside, just jiggled the doors.>>>

His boss told him to 'check out the newspaper boxes'. Given this country's proned to do just what it takes to get by, he obeyed. He 'checked them out'.

There is a reason why he isn't a real policeman.

Suspicious Car Near Treasury Prompts Security Caution
The Associated Press
Published: Jul 7, 2005

WASHINGTON (AP) - Treasury Department officials asked people to move away from windows in one section of the main building Thursday after a suspicious car was sighted outside.

Staffers and reporters were told to move to the hallway.

Norman Foote, the building's security specialist, said the building was not being evacuated. The suspicious vehicle was being investigated by authorities.

The department is next to the White House. The security precautions were taken several hours after a series of explosions rocked the British transit system in London.
