Congressional record ^ | July 7, 2005 | Self

Posted on 07/07/2005 9:47:07 AM PDT by jmaroneps37

Two of the lowest bottom feeders in the congress have joined to try to pass a change in the immigration laws which would allow gay Americans to sponsor their alien partners for citizenship in the same way real couples are able to sponsor potential spouses. depends Leahy in the Senate S1278 and fat jerry nadler in the House HR 3006 are behind this sneaky move. So far it's bottled up in the House Committee on the Judicary. Call you Congress member and demand that it stay there. It's things just like this that should remind us daily of why we must NEVER like the rats get back control of the Congress.

Oh Great. Now the U.S. can become a pervert magnet for the entire world. Welcome to the new world of more deadly venereal disease, TB, and other exotic, often, rodent-based diseases. But hey, it is not a public health threat, it is a civil right.

Of course, since you made that particular comment, the DUmmies will find this particular thread and post a link to it in DUmmieland in about five hours to cite how mean we are.

Not too many years ago, during the Clinton administration, they got the law changed to allow people with active, flaming cases to AIDS to visit and/or immigrate here, so these individuals can bring their partners to the U.S. for the free health care. In order to change that law, they had to also permit individuals with active cases of TB to enter, too. Today, there isn't any kind of disease hideous or contagious enough to block entry. Thanks, Congress.

Do I have to prove that I'm actually the gay lover of the immigrant? What if I want to import, say, a giant van completely filled with Mexican nationals?

Many of these are rolling over our borders daily, and it's perfectly OK with the politicians.

Can this put the left any better into perspective? Among all the issues facing our great country - they choose stuff like this.

I'll acknowledge just being some corporate dweeb in upstate NY, but can't believe Mr. Leahy and party can think of nothing better to focus on (example: Our being at war, the economy, etc.). The left digs its' own political grave every day...

in the same way real couples are able to sponsor potential spouses

Most of the man-woman couples using this law are shams, set up for a fee just to get somebody legal status to be in the US. The whole thing should be shut down, not expanded. Every individual should be subject to the same criteria for entry.

Today, there isn't any kind of disease hideous or contagious enough to block entry.

Including leprosy, which is making some inroads here due to infected aliens coming for free treatment. I read an article recently that quoted a doctor saying that when a person gets leprosy in a third world country, the advice is to go to the US.

Give us your tired, your poor, your infectiously diseased....and we will tax our citizens to pay for their treatment while we expose them to maladies from the dark ages.
