Ex-President Bill Clinton criticized Sen. John Kerry on Friday, saying he lost his presidential bid last year because he was soft on national security.
Addressing Colorado's Aspen Ideas Institute, Clinton dissected Kerry's campaign with event moderator Walter Isaacson.
According to the Aspen Times, Clinton "blamed the Democratic candidate's soft stand on security" for his defeat.
He recalled that while campaigning on behalf of the Massachusetts Democrat last October, "it was clear even Kerry's supporters weren't clear on the candidate's position on national security."
"I think, in the end, he lost in a close race because of the security issue," Clinton told Isaacson.
He also said Kerry didn't do enough to reach out to rural voters, who were likely to support Bush.
"You can't win an election in this country unless you talk to people who you think aren't for you," Clinton said. "A person who wants to be president has to be at home with issues and people when he knows he's on the losing side."
Clinton was accompanied to Aspen by his wife, 2008 presidential hopeful and Kerry rival Hillary Clinton. Sen. Clinton was scheduled to address the Aspen Ideas Institute Sunday afternoon.
The man is on the attack.....
.
thank you, Bill Clinton:
LOL.
Kitty litter!
I am also. And we are going to get a lot more tired and sick of it. Because the closer 08 gets, the more fawning the coverage will get. The Hillary sycophants will inundate the airwaves.
I will be rooting for the trust funders.
This is not about dissing John Kerry, its all about positioning HRC as "tough on national security".
Exactly. Hillary has been screaming all week about national security. Bill is just helping to set the stage. Kerry is a "throw away" and is just being used by Bill.
Tidbit to that draft letter. When I first posted it with that article about Kerry; I thought he was referring to John Kerry with this line:
'One of the national organizers of the Vietnam Moratorium is a close friend of mine.'
Turns out that freeper Fedora came up with more information that indicates it was David Mixner Clinton was referring to.
David Mixner ended up being a political consultant to Clinton. Newsweek calls Mixner "the most powerful gay man in America."
IMHO, if THAT President would have paid attention to national security, the WTC would not have been bombed. And I am amazed that so few Americans are willing to connect those dotted lines?
I see Bill is beginning to clear the field for his wife.
More Americans need to read Richard Miniter's book Losing Bin Laden
He's welcome to try. I can't wait to hear the answers to the questions Hillie will finally be unable to avoid.

It's now clear that the 1993 bombing was the opening round in WWIII, but Cinton and Reno treated it like a simple criminal matter. And the idiot jurors wouldn't even impose the death penalty for fear "they" would be mad at us.
