Karl Rove Should Get a Medal (Good Opinion piece by John Gibson)
Fox News ^ | 7/13/05 | John Gibson

Posted on 07/13/2005 9:06:03 AM PDT by areafiftyone

I say give Karl Rove (search) a medal, even if Bush has to fire him.

Why? Because Valerie Plame (search) should have been outed by somebody. And if nobody else had the cojones to do it, I'm glad Rove did — if he did do it, and he still says he didn't.

Why should she have been outed? Well despite her husband's repeated denials, even in the face of a pile of evidence and conclusions from a Senate investigation, it appears all evidence points to Joe Wilson's wife, spy Valerie Plame, as the one who recommended him for the job of going to Niger to discover is Saddam was trying to buy nuke bomb materials.

Why is this important? Because Wilson was opposed to the war in Iraq, opposed to Bush policy, and pointedly and loudly said so.

Consequently, it was of some interest how he got chosen for this sensitive job which people at the time might have thought would be a fulcrum point for a decision about the war.

You wouldn't send a peacenik to see if we should go to war, if we need to go to war, now would you? Well, turns out the wife did it.

This has been one of the main items bugging me about this whole thing: IF Valerie Plame did recommend her husband for this job, then where did she get the idea? Did she dream it up herself? Or, did someone put her up to it? This is what should be the central point of the investigation...

Could it be that Plame and Wilson took the initiative themselves to get involved (she recommending him and he accepting the assignment), so as to boost their own visibility and sense of "value and importance" to the big Dem. high-rollers?

Gibsons show should be moved to 8:00 pm, eastern time on Fox.

But then who would be "looking out for you"??

Cooper is Live on Fox now yapping about something.

As an aside, Rush mentioned in his opening today that Cooper is married to "Mandy Grunwald." She's a "democratic stategist" and more importantly, a Hillary loyalist...I remember her from way back when the 90's...Rush says they're all incestuous up there in WDC. Rush can be so funny sometimes!

Maybe it is.

All of this hullabaloo may be an attempt provide cover when Mr. or Mrs. Plame is, what's the word, "Frog marched out of the office with a raincoat over their head".

Then the MSM will be selling the theme that poor Joe Wilson is a persecuted whistle blower.

I just called CIA HQ in Langly and asked to speak to 'Joe Wilson's whore' and the operator hung up on me LMAO

How juvenile you are. It's one thing to share heated opinions over the internet on a forum like this, but to do what you did is just so childish and immature. It's something I would expect from someone over at DU...not a poster here in FR.

I have one helluva loaded question (and I understand if nobody wants to touch it).

What if this were the Clinton administration, and somebody with the same position(s) as Rove talked to a Chinese agent, and said the exact same things that Rove told the reporter?

I have a different view than most people do of the Rove situation, because I spent a large portion of my adult life dealing with security and intelligence, and I don't treat those things very lightly. I don't care that he mentioned no names, I don't care that the agent and her husband were liberals, what I care about is the security aspect of this. It shows very poor judgement to be discussing such things, especially to a reporter of all people.

I would love for Rove to release the emails from Cooper to him. This would be the best thing to do.Then we can see what Cooper was asking Rove.I heard that the Rove email is in response to Coopers questions about Wilson and who coordinated his trup to Niger. However the networks have spun it to be Rove was emailing the reporter on his own.I do not think that is the full story.

If you think your going to hear the full story, I've got some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.

Your right though, you really do get the impression that Rove was just looking for some way to screw somebody over and that he was deliberately driving all of this. He did some questionable things, but it takes two to tango.

Whether the idea was Wilson's, Plame's, a joint effort, or, the fruit of third party's misdeeds, one thing is for certain: Karl Rove isn't the crook here; someone else is...

Look, sister She and her hubby did all they could to sabotage the President and undermine his credibility. All because British Intelligencce made them look stupid on the Niger yellocake report. She and her little clique inside the Agency are a bunch of ROGUES who sent her husband there without the knowledge or approval of DCI George Tenet She needs to be fired with malice. In the meantime I see no reason not to treat her like a common whore and cause her and her little clique as much grief as possible. You do it your way, I'll do it my way.

I agree Rove shouldn't have talked to the reporter the way he did (Hey W, the press and Teddy K are NOT your friends). But to compare that to leaking info to a "Chinese agent" is a stretch. Keep in mind he streesed to the reporter to keep it in double secret background, and was simply trying to mention Wilson's wife in passing to refute another point. The reporter used the info against his agreement in a hit piece on the Admin.

I've seen no evidence Rove specifically "outed" Plame or attempted to endanger her in any way. Her and her husband and the media were and are acting like partisan hacks.

FOX, continuing the tradition of being one of the few major news outlets that reports without bias. Sheesh, One would only hope that O'reilly would take on the NY Liberal Times about their involvement in all of this and their stupid biased editorials.

"If the left hated terrorists as much as they hate Bush (and Rove) we would have won the War on Terror by now."

This is the best post/quote I've heard on this subject,
Lets spread this around, say it to your friends, included in emails to your senator's etc.

Good one BadAndy!
