A friend forwarded the following link to me, and I believe the pictures woudl be of great interest to Free Republic members. http://www.fullnet.net/devotionals/therock.html

However, since I am almost a complete technology klutz (I'd say perfect klutz, but nobody's perfect) I don't know who to post them into a trhead.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Also, if this is old news, my apologies in advance.

Thanks

I'm told that there is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy.25 in rural Iowa. For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing it's character many times. A few months back, the rock received it's latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed. It's quite an impressive sight. I thought the flag was draped over the rock, but it's not. It's actually painted on the rock too.

Old news, but that's okay. It's still good stuff.

The guy who paints this rock is an artist. He repaints it every year...depending on what's going on at the time.

It's become quite a tourist attraction; the newest paint job is a couple of months old...there was a photo in the local paper of him at work back in May IIRC.

Here's a link to a local story a couple of years ago...where the painter talks about "why" he does it. As I mentioned earlier, there was a story recently also.
