Taboo Topics in Journalism Today - (says liberal media bias gave Kerry 5 to 20 million votes!)
A.I.M.ORG ^ | JULY 14, 2005 | CLIFF KINCAID

The old media, with their documented and demonstrable liberal bias, have lost much of their clout. But through the networks, the major papers, and the White House press corps, they continue to set the national agenda. And that means there are some things you just don't write about if you want to remain "in" with the liberal media.

Newsweek senior writer Charles Gasparino, appearing on Tina Brown's now-defunct CNBC show, made the following admission. "We sow the seeds of our own demise. Journalists have been advocates of the liberal attitude for way too long, and now we're paying the price.

Here are some of the things you can't write about objectively in the mainstream media:

The harmful effects of abortion. Abortion is considered a sacred right of women that should not be challenged.

The theory of intelligent design. This theory, an alternative to Darwinian evolution, says that life has a purpose.

That DDT has saved lives and can save millions more. DDT has been demonized by the environmentalists and the media for decades, leading to its banning.

The violent nature of Islam. The media repeat claims that Islam is a religion of peace.

The link between pornography and violence against women. The media depict Playboy founder Hugh Hefner as a cultural icon, even though he is a dirty old man with a long history of manipulating and exploiting women.

Questions about the real cause of AIDS.

Real reform of the CIA and FBI.

That homosexuality is a lifestyle one can leave and reject.

That the Bush Doctrine is leading to positive developments in the Middle East.

That Alfred Kinsey, the father of the sexual revolution, was a sex pervert who gathered data from sexual experiments on children performed by a Nazi pedophile.

.........and much more in this excellent article.

Wasn't it Howard Fineman of Newsweek, who said that the main stream media has become another political party?.......that's not quite accurate. It has been a left wing branch of the Democrat party for decades.

Quote from Kincaid: "Evan Thomas of Newsweek estimated that media bias for Kerry-Edwards was worth between 5 and 20 million votes.

"The bias is evident, as Thomas said, in coverage of Democrats vs. Republicans. But the bias is also evident in coverage of the issues."

No doubt with the way the media "pushed" the Bush's Draft BS.

CBS-Viacom's MTV kept interrupting tv programming (middle of the shows for a "breaking item") to tell young voters of the impending draft. The implication was clear that Bush was going to get young America drafted into a war they don't understand and "shouldn't" be fighting.

Wow! That means Kerry wasn't worth a plug nickel on his own merits!

Well we KNEW that much. The media owns the Democratic party lock, stock and anus. The DNC needs to get a divorce from the MSM and start over...then maybe they will have a chance.

The media removed all of the stops to try to hand the election to Kerry (aka ANYBODY BUT BUSH) but 61million voters stood up and said hell no. We knew that we would have to get to the polls in record numbers to counteract the media bias and the fraud.

Even on election day, Zogby cooked his books to try to get Republicans depressed about the election. WE participated in the REAL poll that day.

Kerry WASN'T a strong candidate. Dirty secret is that W beat EVERY "anybody but Bush" candidate combined. No matter how you slice it, they lost.

Kerry WASN'T a strong candidate.

Maybe not, but he was the strongest candidate they could come up with.

Makes ya think, doesn't it?

He was a composite candidate, same as their platform.

He was a "war hero" and "against the war".

He had to be careful what he said to what audience.

Most Rats held their nose to vote for him. Some refused to do that.

Most Rats held their nose to vote for him. Some refused to do that. I didn't know that. I only know one Democrat well enough to talk politics (and it's a very tricky proposition even with her) and she was whole-heartedly for Kerry; she still talks him up today.

Anyway, which candidate could most Rats have supported without holding their noses?

Dean? Lieberman? Hillary?

Only Dean and Hillary sound like they fill the bill to me. Both are "strong" in a sense, I guess.

The hard left wanted Kucenich and/or Dean. Edwards was like a televangelist.

" Wow! That means Kerry wasn't worth a plug nickel on his own merits!"

I wonder if we really understand how we dodged a bullet. The MSM in 2004 dropped all pretense of objectivity and jumped on the Kerry bandwagon. They'll deny it, but the statistics bear this out.

Kerry was indeed a weak candidate. A creepy gigilo; un upper class patrician twit; an enourmous catalogue of anti-Americanism ("Dear Commandante" boot licker in Nicaragua); an amazingly lazy senator with a paper thin list of accomplishments in his 18 year tenure; a two-faced flip flopper; an obvious phony on so many levels; raised in France and showed the most passion during the campaign when his manservant misplaced his hair brush; and really, just not a very likable, prissy girly-man.

With this kind of weak candidate, the left came really within a hair's breadth of turning out a very good man. This was the effect of the MSM's determination to relentlessly pound Bush.

Exactly.

And it's hard for me to believe that either of those two would have done any better than Kerry. Dean would have self-destructed (personally I think The Scream finished him; he'll never live that down) and Kucenich... I'm not sure. Wasn't he a little on the stupid side? I don't even know what he looked like.

Ok.. how bout this...

The MsM and MsP also.. will NEVER show a debate on the difference between what the words "democracy" and what " A democracy".. IS..

"A" democracy is a form of government.. most, even republicans, don't know the difference.. Why the confusion.?. The reason why is quoted by some famous figures..

Democracy is the road to socialism. Karl Marx

Democracy is indispensable to socialism. The goal of socialism is communism. V.I. Lenin

The meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism.- Karl Marx

RE: "Evan Thomas of Newsweek estimated that media bias for Kerry-Edwards was worth between 5 and 20 million votes."

In the early days of TV "news" the MSM employees were clumsy at such things; for example North Vietnam Communists' most trusted American, "news" reader Walter Cronkite attempted to tie Barry Goldwater to the JFK assassination and later had to apologize for it.

Another CBS employee told the viewers that Goldwater was vacationing in Germany and visiting one of Hitler's most favored retreats -- failing to mention that it was at the time a U.S. military installation.

Every year since 1992 the ratmedia has grown weaker. The difference between their power to lie and cover for the evil donkey's lies slips away by the month. By 2006 it will be weaker and by 2008 it will be still weaker. The beast has no chance of winner. The next president will be George Allen and his VP will be Ken Blackwell. End of discussion.
