If the rats filibuster they look dumb, if they demagogue him too much they look dumb, pretty much no matter what they do to this candidate they will look dumb. Unless, they approve him. Which they just might have to do to save face. GW is so smart it's scary.

Agreed. Specter must vigorously thrust this nomination through the committee with a positive recommendation to the floor of the Senate. Roberts will have the votes for it, and there cannot be any hanky panky.

My guess is that anyone running for POTUS as a Dem has to vote against all SCTOUS judges. JMHO.
