Vandals are compounding the grief of a Tri-state soldier's family.

Not even 24-hours after Private First Class Tim Hines's wife and family said goodbye at his funeral, American flags that had adorned their Fairfield yard were piled beneath a car and burned....

It doesn't take a rogue band of liberals to do this - just a couple. Drunks don't usually target a military family to burn the US flags under a family member's car. This was a very deliberate act.

Catch 'em and turn 'em over to me.

I am more in favor of a non-event training event. Find them, take them on a plane trip, and when they wake up the next day, they are in some foreign land that they don't have a clue what the language is, and Americans are hated by everyone for hundreds of miles (Zimbabew, South Africa would fit that bill).

Then let there pictures appear on some milk carton...

"I don't think it's a political statement," said Kramer. "I don't think it's random. I think it's some really stupid kids, maybe drunk I don't know, but it's despicable and I hope they are caught."

How is this not a political statement. Kids or not, every individual in this country knows if you burn our flag you are making a statement. What else could it be except political.

If your child does not know this is absolutely unacceptable behavior, you are not doing your job as a parent. I hope they catch the POS's that defiled this family and throw them in the pokey for a couple of years. Maybe next time they will think before doing something this insanely stupid.

If it turns out it was solely a political act, try them for treason and execute the bastards!

There must be someway for FReepers to respond with a show of support for the family of Private Hines. You are all so eloquent.

Lt. gov. crashed Marine's funeral, kin say

"The family of a Marine who was killed in Iraq is furious with Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll for showing up uninvited at his funeral this week, handing out her business card and then saying "our government" is against the war...."

Words cannot express my disgust at the kind of vermin who would do something like this. At least, not words I can use on FR.

I saw that! And post #49 by MizSterious points out that they are having the same kind of problems there.

I'm wondering if there is a collective effort afoot with in the liberal camp that we are just now becoming aware of. If there is, then they are sicker then I ever could have imagined.

To pull off these kinds of stunts against the families of the soldiers who lost their lives fighting for this country is in my thoughts the lowest of the low.

I simply remember how stupid I was as a dumb-ass teenager).

I think most of us here will admit to some pretty stupid stuff in our teen years, but I have to tell ya, burning the American flag never crossed my mind. If one of my fellow delinquents had suggested such a thing I would have beat the hell out of him. I was brought up better than that!

I was taught you are a patriot from birth and nothing in this world can change that.

Hard to follow your reasoning. Just because an area is heavily GOP doesn't mean that there are no Dems/liberals. This was a political statement,i.e., whoever did it does not support the war and/or Bush. To label the perpetrators as RINOs is unwarranted and pure supposition.

Those same people who used to spit on returning soldiers have become even more cowardly. Now, they are more vicious and aren't even brave enough to approach the soldiers face-to-face.

Piggish cowards, may they rot in hell after they rot in jail.

Who knows, but I seriously doubt this was done by Reps, whether they be RINOs or not.
