Thanks Blam.
"I'm beginning to wonder if we shouldn't start a history division of the GGG list? What do you think?"
I've mostly stopped pinging the list for "Thoroughly Modern Miscellany" topics, although it's not unheard of. Oh weird, I just had a flashback to my childhood piano lessons. Must be time for a CAT scan. Anyway, I don't think it would be worthwhile to try to get everyone sorted out by what list they want, considering most would want more than one. :')
IOW, for example, we could have a list of "Ancient Egypt", another for "Paleontology", another for "Modern history", etc.
By "we", I mean someone besides me. I do some crazy things with my time, but that ain't gonna be one of 'em. :') I see what you're getting at though; I could just stop pinging stuff, and rely on the Digest ping to notify everyone of the unpinged material added to the catalog.
To all -- please ping me to other topics which are appropriate for the GGG list. Thanks. Please FREEPMAIL me if you want on, off, or alter the "Gods, Graves, Glyphs" PING list --
Archaeology/Anthropology/Ancient Cultures/Artifacts/Antiquities, etc.
The GGG Digest -- Gods, Graves, Glyphs (alpha order)

Even though you do the work, so my vote shouldn't really count (Do I know how to suck- up, what? :) ) I have to agree with you. I have too many diverse interests to want to see a fractionation of the list; and where would it stop?
I know; I would get pings for each fraction, BUT, I would not have the convenience of knowing that I would not miss a ping to an interesting article, because I had neglected to sign up with the proper sub-list.
