"Even though the GOP is getting plenty of scratches on its paint through the Karl Rove saga, the growing unpopularity of the war, the wearing off of the Teflon that has protected them from paying the price for their "the rich -- first, last, and always" policies,..."

You're right, they are delusional. No one to the right of MoveOn.org cares about the Karl Rove kerfluffle. No Teflon loss there.

This newspaper ought to define "the rich". I remember in California 15 years ago the Dem's were attacking Republican support for "the rich". Turns out "the rich" were anyone who made $75K per year. Look, if class envy rhetoric didn't work in America for the past 50 years, why would it start working now, with Americans becoming wealthier and even more owning property, stocks, bonds, etc.?

this page believes firmly that a strong, balanced two-party system is the essence of healthy American government.

Interesting. If one could search this paper's archives from the days when the DIMs were the unquestionably dominant national party, is it even remotely possible that this same attitude was present? ROTFLMAF

None of these people gave a crap about a two party system until the DIMs became the minority party. Kicks them off of their holier than thou perch, doesn't it?

Its French time, its French time, its time for the Democrats to go French!

apparently mindless of her continuing high "hate" quotient

Counting on a high "hate" factor, we need to band together and help the Green Party become stronger. I'm going to send them a few bucks and encourage them to put someone on the ballot other than a Nader wannabe. Divide and conquer.

"mindless of her continuing high "hate" quotient. Pray that he is correct."
We need to start coalescing around a strong 2008 candidate, and rather soon. Prolonged internecine squabble cannot be afforded. Somebody like Cheney [not available] or Zell.

The reason the Democrats are losing elections is that their ideas keep on being discredited. What's surprising is that they win as many elections as they do.

Why do we need a strong socialist counter-point party in America?
I don't feel the need for one, but in principle we don't want a one-party system either.

The real problem is that we have an "Objective Journalism" party and a Republican Party.

To claim to be virtuous is to commit the sin of pride - and objectivity is a virtue. Thus, "Objective Journalism" is arrogant. It is also superficial because of its deadlines, and is negative for the same reason that the boy cried, "Wolf!"

"Objective Journalism" is also cowardly. Wach member of journalism is afraid of the ostrcization of the group. That is why each of them conforms to a pseudo-courageous concensus in which all loudly proclaim that they are are for the little guy, and unafraid of "big business and the government." By which they actually mean that they pick on the party of Middle America, unafraid of people who actually uphold the Constitution and its First Amendment. But in mortal fear of being called "not objective, not a journalist" by The New York Times.

If Democrats lose in 2008, look for Howard Dean as the frontrunner for 2012.

"It has at least four problems. One is that it lost the 2004 elections badly...In the 2004 elections, the Republican margin of victory wasn't that great"

So which is it, Bub?

a strong two party system is essential to the health of our nation-as long as one of then is not Democrat party. I've been writing to Ann Coulter asking her to form a new party and offering her my services as chief of staff and head masseur but strangely she has answered none of my six hundred letters.

And I always thought that she was a smart girl???

The Dems lies have been completely exposed by themselves and are a complete joke to most of America. Always starting a sentance with "Americans think..." when they have no clue about what America is about. So they are going to run an angry, old, lesbian, anti-war, commie lib, Harpy for a change.

Typical, asinine RATmedia dreaming. The Rove thing was an invented waste of media space "scandal" and didn't "scratch" the Pubbies at all. It did wound the RATs and the leftmedia, however.

Hillary Clinton may have a high 'hate' quotient, but we should never overlook her. Never. I hope the Republicans don't get cocky yet again during a presidential election.
