This reporter needs to study the Koran before writing articles about Islam.

A madrassa "education" is good for nothing but terrorism.
You'd better check post # 11 on this thread before you declare nonsense !!
Or Where it really belongs.....
"Basically, what has been carried out has no Islamic affiliation at all," he said. "Whatever has been perpetrated has nothing to do with Islam. It's a coordinated way of certain groups to take care of differences. There is no religious basis. ... Those groups do what they do because of conflicts with governments, not people."
The above statement is the problem with Islam and why we can't expect any help from followers in eradicating terrorism. They can't admit that the terrorists are practicing a legitimate form of Islam because to do so would destroy the beliefs of their followers in Islam being a peaceful and benign religion.
"Before I left, the soft-spoken, kindspirited Lunat opened a brochure containing photos of the Brooklyn Bridge. At first I was alarmed, but then he gently said, 'We're raising money for widows and orphans, so we're selling this prime piece of real estate... can I interest you?' "
Here is what Sir Churchill had to say about Islam:
How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.
Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities - but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.
This article should have been named "My Pet Goat: Liberal American Media".
I don't think that this newspaper reporter or the headline writer, who I doubt speak one word of Arabic, are in any position to say what is or is not "The Truth About Islam."
Amd I resent the arrogance of this publication in pretending to be able to deliver such "Truth."
The most this article could claim to offer is "Another Perspective on Islam," or "Another View of Islam."
The fact is that there are plenty of bona fide Imams and Muslim scholars who teach that the kinds of terrorist attacks we have seen are justified, if not required, by the Koran.
Not being an Arabic speaker myself, and not willing to spend my life studying the Koran and interviewing Muslim imams in a futile attempt to determine "the truth about Islam," I don't suppose I will ever know for certain whether or not Islam is a religion of peace or a religion of thuggery, oppression or murder.
And neither will Brian T. Kehl and his colleagues at The News-Enterprise.
What I do know is that since 9-11, I have been keeping my eyes peeled for evidence that Islam is not completely appalling. So far, I have found none.
And this shallow, virtually single-sourced puff-piece article doesn't change that.
You posted this propaganda , and left town , next time stick around to answer some of these pings . What the hell ???
Want to get out the truth about Islam? Help us get the Conservative Hollwood off the Ground and I think we can easily be persuaded to make a movie based on the life of Mohhamed. We will merely show how he actually lived and people will run for the hills.

"Oh really? Then how do you explain the following article."
It is from NewsMax. So it too is a propaganda piece.
He'll be back....SLB's a good guy. He's probably still at church. Posted this before he left IMHO....
But understand he just posted it....he didn't write it.
I'm glad you and others keep posting the Suras and Hadiths to reveal the true Islamic teachings. What is good is that you don't "pick and choose", this IS Islam!
Are the liar's pants on fire? Is his nose as long as the proverbial wire?
I've read this before. What happens is people take the most bloodthirsty xenophobic verses and apply the most bloodthirsty xenophobic interpertations and say this is Islam. Now those verses are there and no one can deny it, BUT you can also find verses that contradict those verses.
The question that must be asked is, given that there are something like 1.3 billion muslims in the world if these verses were such an integral part of Islam we'd be seeing a lot more incidences of terrorism? By "a lot" I'm talking 100's-1,000's a month.
That's not to say Islam doesn't have problems, seriouse problems.
It is the "people" (muslimsm) who "perceive" that Islam is indeed violent and who are blowing the H out of the rest of us.
The article was preachy and assumed that the non-muslim was ignorant with an issue to overcome. Frankly, the more I read of their thinking and beliefs, the more I understand their violent behavior. Their logic escapes me. They do appear to be taught to take an active role in society and to apply their religious beliefs in the "solution." With that kind of thinking, they could never accept that they are creating problems that never before existed in our western society. They should stop trying to control everybody else and control themselves -- something they've failed to do thus far.
