...Let's examine some of the breaches of security performed by Democrats. Former Democratic Rep. and later Sen. Robert Toricelli in 1995 leaked the name of a paid CIA informant, Col. Julio Roberto Alpirez (from Guatemala), to The New York Times. There was no hue and cry for Toricelli's head.
Recently, we have had Sandy Berger stuffing classified documents into his pants and socks. Berger didn't leak these -- he destroyed them. This is obstruction of justice.
Just a short time ago, Sen. John Kerry during the Bolton confirmation hearings "outed" a real CIA undercover agent, Fulton Armstrong, despite a request from the CIA that his name remain a secret. Should Kerry also be fired?...

What makes you think it is being said to "excuse" our actions? There is an alternative explanation:
We bring these up so as to get equal protection under the law (and in the court of public opinion). I gladly will trade:
Newt Gingrich for Hillary Clinton (Speaking fee's vs. Book deal).
Tom Delay for Nancy Pelosi and others (travel deals)
Robert Bork for R.B. Ginsburg (equally 'extreme') No, I do not think Bork to be extreme.
Carl Rove for Sandy Berger, Robert Toricelli and John Kerry
We have 'lost' almost all of the above Republicans politically (or power wise), yet Democrats who commit equal sins remain in office. No, we do not do it as an excuse, but to point out the hypocrisy of the left.

Right now, the ONLY people we KNOW "did it" are Democrats (and Lugar)...
No one has proved Rove "did it".

Lugar and Kerry were asked not to use the name of Fulton Armstrong during the Bolton hearings.
They did it anyway.
