Here is an "answer" by Asefi:

http://www.irna.ir/en/news/view/line-22/0508060572122640.htm
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said here Saturday Iran will not accept the Europeans' proposed package on nuclear dossier.

Asefi told IRNA on the sidelines of President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad's swearing-in ceremony.

He said, "The Europeans' proposal lacks the criteria enshrining Iran's interests and runs counter to the NPT spirit and the Paris agreement.

"We will give complete answer to the Europe's proposed package today or tomorrow but it should be mentioned that Europe has not fulfilled its duties and promises."
He added the proposal is not acceptable because the enrichment issue has not been included in it, saying "We have already announced any proposal set forth should enshrine Iran's enrichment right.

"We are still interested in continuation of talks with the Europeans."
Asked about an extraordinary session of the Board of governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency on Iran's nuclear dossier on the Europeans' request, Asefi added, "The session has no legal justification. It is aimed to put Iran under political pressure and launch a psychological warfare against the country."

Comment: It seems that they will go on with the negotiations...

Here is what sanctions mean. Iran gets 70% of its goods from Europe. They sell most of their oil to europe. When they can not sell any oil(=no money) and they can not buy any goods. THE COUNTRY WILL COLLAPSE IN A MATTER OF 3 WEEKS!

Sanctions? I don't recall sanctions doing anything at all to Iraq in 3 years let alone 3 weeks.

I mean sanctions from Europe not just the USA.

I also meant them not being able to sell any oil.

If you take a look at Iran right now, this second, they are on the verge of self destruction from teh inside.

When I say sanctions I mean REAL sanctions as in blockade of ALL goods and Oil shipments. Not oil for food stuff. I mean nothing gets through in either direction.

If you think they are loaded with money and can last, ok, but I dont think they are. The people there need about one week of worse conditions and they may take the matter into their own hands.

That would be nice, but the effort to do it would be monumental. Look at the map.
