The Skinny on Politics [Huckabee: I may move to NY and run against Hillary in Senate race]

AR GOP Gov Mike Huckabee
Q: Congratulations on your new appointment as the chairman of the National Governors Association.
Thank you. I know it sounds impressive, but it may be one of those things for which I will need condolences in about six months....
Q. You recently formed a health political action committee and are rumored to be making a bid for the White House in 2008. What if you wind up running against Hillary Clinton?
Well, that would be an interesting twist, wouldn't it? But I may follow another path and move to New York and run against her for Senate.

Swing and independent voters will love him because of this, and he will get a ton of free media for it, too, in NY:
Q. I assume that is because you recently shed 100-plus pounds. How do you feel about being known as the best dieter in politics?
It's one of those few times when a politician actually likes to lose. It also means that I am a much smaller target than I used to be.
Q. Many of us admire the anti-obesity campaign you launched in Arkansas schools two years ago....

I think it would be an interesting race, because then he could Hillary all that he did in AR while she abandoned it in favor for NY. I always thought Hillary should have started her elective political career in AR. It seemed to me she just sort of tossed away her knowledge of that state and its people in favor of brighter lights in NY. Kind of shallow. But, he stayed behind in AR. If it was a close race, or he won, he would become a real contender for 2008, IMO. But I don't know when his current term ends in AR.

re my post #6 - This is what I always thought the FL Gov Dem candidate, Bill McBride, should have done in 2002, to get name recognition in this state: go on a diet, and announce how many pounds he intended to lose by election day. Then, he would have been invited endlessly on all these local tv and radio talk shows, and weighed in, reportedly his progress, like these current reality tv shows on weight loss. And, his name recognition would have shot up, for no money. But, that was MY secret plan. I waited to see if he or his people would be smart enough to do that, however, they weren't.
Instead he wanted Gov Bush to abandon the gov office and follow him around in an endless series of debates, which of course Gov Bush declined because, uh, he was busy being gov! The weight loss media campaign blitz is what I thought McBride should have done. He was pudgy, and he had no name recognition. When the election was over, he was still pudgy. Who knows what he's doing now...

Whatt happened with Huckabee and illegals and Tyson Foods? All I remember is that Tyson was employing illegals and the illegals were caught, and Tyson execs got into trouble with the law. What did Huckabee do to upset you?
I also seem to recall Huckabee was posted here as having played a musical instrument at a FR ball!

Huckabee risks political fortunes to denounce immigration raidHe is also a big fan of reduced tuition rates for illegals and the kids of illegals....all for the children, of course. < /sarcasm > He has absolutely no problem dipping into taxpayers' pockets to finance these criminal operations. I'm sure he gets a big pay off from Tyson and Petit Jean.
Oh, and now that he's lost all that weight, he feels it necessary to impose "healthy living" indoctrination programs on all state employees.

Hillary hated the people of Arkansas. She thought the state and its people were beneath her. I'll guarantee you if you could hear her private conversations, you would hear her run down the people of NY also. I just can't believe the people of NY let her move there a few months before she ran and won her senate seat. Unbelievable.

They're called "secret ballots" for a reason - namely, it's none of your business how anyone else votes, and it's no one else's business how you vote (unless you voluntarily divulge that information). Or is this your personal version of "Papers, please"?

If you don't know much at all about your boy Huck, it simply means to me you do not follow current events or politics.
He is in Tyson Chicken's back pocket and runs political interference for the AR poultry industry assuring they get cheap illegal immigrant labor. Why, because Arkansas employers on the cheap don't wish to pay a decent wage to American citizens.

Datura,
You are completely wrong about Huckabee's position on illegal immigration. He opposes illegal immigration and advocates their deportation. Period. He is hated by some for his belief that children of illegal immigrants, most of whom are American citizens and all of whom have committed no crime themselves, be eligible for in-state tuition and financial aid to attend college upon graduation from Arkansas high schools. The Arkansas constitution-- not Huckabee-- mandates that all children, regardless of legal status, be education K-12. So why should an academically qualified, 18-year old adult, American citizen be denied the opportunity for a college education just because his or her parents committed a crime?

She always looked dirty and her skin still does, at least her hair doesn't drip oil anymore, that's probably from too much bleach. His mother was trash, but at least she was clean. Guess she learned that in nursing school. She made the statement once to Bill, that Hillary was the ugliest, dirtiest girl she had ever seen. He told her, Hillary had a fine mind and he was sure his mother could clean her up.
