The last I heard, this is an all VOLUNTEER MILITARY. These folks signed on to defend our Freedoms. Each life lost is tragic and unforgetable. That said, we are, as a nation, where we are today because of the brave, dedicated men and women that have fought and died for this great Country. Anyone that joins the US military and expects that they will never be shot at is a fool. We may well fail in Iraq. If we do, some form of nuclear war is virtually inevitable. That isn't necessarily true. Not all families have loving relationships, and many young people join the military to get away from an unhappy home life. Giving birth does not make someone a mother.
