This could prove to be interesting.

Just a few points from someone outside New York:
Most NY Republicans are too liberal for the majority of conservative Americans, but are to the right of any given Democrat. That is a common failing of ALL northeastern politicians. Liberalism is too entrenched there to be readily eradicated, so take what you can get....it's easier to move a northeastern Republican to the right than it is to make a Democrat conservative in any way, shape or form.

Hitlery isn't as bright as the media gives her credit for. She's a slow thinker, hence why she has to be kept in controlled settings. Her temper, which is shorter than a microscopic midget, is also likely to do her in. If Pirro's people are smart, they'll do something to piss Hitlery off, and do it in a live forum.

Hitlery CAN be beaten, but it takes a LOT of fire in the belly to do it. Her meager legislative record has to be pointed out REPEATEDLY, and make some unflattering comparisons between Pirro's record of accomplishments and Hitlery's having ridden Billy Boy's coattails all her life.

Concentrate on winning outside NYC and Albany. Most large cities trend heavily leftward, and those are NY's most liberal cities. If you can win the Republicans in NYC and Albany, as few as they may be, as well as convince the somewhat more conservative rural voters that Pirro is a better choice than Hitlery, the QB CAN be defeated. Don't look for a 70%/30% or 60%/40% victory....BE HAPPY WITH 51%/49%! A WIN IS A WIN! TAKE THE "W" IN YOUR COLUMN!

Pirro can defeat Hitlery, but it will take a strong strategy, and flexible tactics. Hitlery will fight dirty, so be prepared to fight back dirtier. Be prepared to counter Hitlery's lies with the truth, but also GO ON OFFENSE RIGHT FROM THE START! NEVER let your opponant have the initiative. If Pirro really wants to win this, she'll have to fight like she's never fought before....and it all boils down to desire. If she doesn't have the desire to win, she should step aside and let someone in who does. Defeating Hitlery will NOT be easy, but it's not impossible, and I believe that if a team is assembled to destroy the Hildabeast, that will be the team to destroy the Dems once and for all in 2008.

As an upstate NYer, I am not a political insider, but you have to realize this one fact. "Downstate NY" controls the entire state. Those of us in the rural areas are too few in number to vote our conservative principles, and have a chance of beating a liberal downstate candidate.

Anyone running on the republican ticket has to be to the left in the pubbie party to have a chance of winning in an election. Therefore, we hold our noses, and vote for the best rino we can.

Perhaps we should be thinking strategery here. If Pirro can handicap Hillary at all by running against her, that will (I can only hope) hurt Hillary's drive for the Whitehouse.

I want the pubbie candidate running against HIllary to be the one who can best "de-throne" the beast.

Happilly married, Hillary? LOL, ROTFLMAO!!

She was so happy married to Bill that she moved out of the White House, even if it was to further her OWN ambitions.

I don't think they spend many nights together these days either.

She's married to Bill in name only. The whole world knows that, MM.

And they don't care.

"I don't think that will have any effect on NY liberals. Like the rest, they are not interested so much as having Hillary represent them they want her to represent US! "

Maybe not. It will however have an effect on upstate voters that haven't seen Hillary bring any jobs upstate. I would play that up.

"Mrs. Clinton, you brought nothing to NY in six years and now you want to run for reelection to jump start a Presidential run." "Why should we vote for you?"

I like Pirro. She wins in a walk comparing personalities with Hillary. She has also gained a lot of supporters by appearing regularly on cable talk shows. She seems to have moxy and is tons more forthright than HRC.

The Republican Party in New York hasn't had a successful candidate for statewide office in several generations who has been to the right of Karl Marx.

Dennis Vacco (successful until he told to Conservative Party to go F themselves, thereby handing the AG office to Spitzer) and George Pataki v.1994, for starters.

And running Karl Marx for office is not a good way to accomplish .... anything.

In doing a tribute to Jennings, MSM got comments from the people on the street, one enlighten gentlemen commented about what a great American Jennings was and the great job he did reporting during WWII. I looked at my husband and said, not only is this man an idiot since Jennings was probably only five years old during WWII but MSM is just as stupid for letting it air. Public School Education at its best.

We are going to see how many New Yorkers have the guts to vote for a person who deserves their vote. If Hillery can beat this beautiful, intelligent, hard working DA who is actually from New York, I will no longer have any respect for the people of that state.

So it looks like Pirro is running. I still think she should have run for AG instead.

I hope she moderates her liberal social views enough to at least be able to get the Conservative Party endorsement.

Senior GOP leaders said last week that Pirro had ruled out challenging Clinton, in part because Conservative Party leader Mike Long said Pirro's generally liberal social views would make it difficult for her to get his party's support.

Who does the NY GOP think can win against Hitlery in NY? They can run a real conservative and let Commisar Clinton walk away with her Senate seat again (setting her up for a run at the White House in '08) or they can run a northeast Republican and have a real chance of slapping her down.

...is tons more forthright than HRC...

LOL! Wait until interviewers start asking personal questions about her marital history and about Bush Administration scandals like the jobless recession, Karl Rove/Valerie Plame, and Bush's history of youthful indiscretions resulting in brushes with the law. The wife of America's Greatest Living Ex-President has already responded to the Republicans unfounded rumors about Hillary's personal life. Ms. Pirro has yet to experience a media frenzy focused upon her alone and in combination with Republican Party partners in crime.

You mean you still have some respect for PA's neighboring state, even after both NY and PA voted down Bush in consecutive elections?
