I was under the distinct impression Jenanine Pirro had decided not to run against Hildabeast. This was the word on the street a week or two ago.

From the NY Post:

WESTCHESTER District Attorney Jea nine Pirro has put running against Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton "back on the agenda," while former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld is again eyeing the race for governor, GOP leaders said late yesterday.

Pirro, who is expected to announce her political plans Wednesday, has been weighing a race for the Senate, attorney general and even governor in the wake of Gov. Pataki's decision late last month not to run again.

Senior GOP leaders said last week that Pirro had ruled out challenging Clinton, in part because Conservative Party leader Mike Long said Pirro's generally liberal social views would make it difficult for her to get his party's support.

State GOP Finance Chairman James Ortenzio, who is New York County (Manhattan) GOP chairman, also publicly called on Pirro late last week to run for attorney general, a seat being vacated because Eliot Spitzer plans to run for governor.

But Pirro, after several days of weighing her options, is now "leaning towards running for the Senate," said one of the state's best-known Republicans. "Her thinking is that if she does well against Hillary Clinton then she still has a life after the election," said the source. "Run and lose against Hillary, get 40 percent or so, and you're still a star. But if she runs for attorney general and loses, she has nothing in the future."

Insiders said Pirro was also being urged to run for the Senate by several of Pataki's political consultants, who stand to collect large fees from such a contest.

If true this ought to be good. It will be a battle of their husband's past. (The Dems will make hay over that for sure, payback for Ferraro) As much as I like Jeanne Pirro, she'll have as much of a chance as Lazio had. The big name recognition, being the incumbent and the inner city support for Hillary will be over whelming.

This NY citizen will vote for anyone but Hillary. I am happy to see Pirro in the race against her, although I hear she has "husband" problems.

Will be watching the pubbie primaryclosely to see who looks good to carry the downstate primary. Then this upstate momma will vote accordingly.

Piro will promise to serve her full 6 year term if elected Senator. Something that her opponent refuses to do. Her husband problems are no worse than her opponent's husband.

Loser.

Losers.

If we're gonna lose to Hillary, might as well nominate someone with at least some tiny shreds of conservative principle, doncha think???

She may be a sleeper. She is smart, and if she can draw out Hillary's lack of meaningful intelligence, it could be very interesting.

My heart goes out to the Jennings family and may God rest his soul. However, with saying that. Jennings will always be a socialist/communist in my eyes who was as anti-american as they came in the news business. A leader and champion for the blame america crowd, Jennings will forever be remembered in my mind not for the million stories he covered and read.

But for the morning of 9-11 when he made the remarks on-air while Air Force One was going base to base that "some people can handle situations like these, others can't handle them psychologically and go somewhere to figure them out."

A Bush/Republican/U.S. Military/U.S. Government/U.S. in general basher if there ever was one.

Hard to imagine that any woman has more "husband problems" than PIAPS, so that should hardly be a problem.

If PIAPS wants to compare husbands with Pirro, yes, let's have that public conversation.
