The statement of policy by the admin mods at the start of this thread is worth reading.
I will resume posting some health and medicine articles to chat if I think it could generate a decent amount of interesting comments to the thread.
It's been my experience that once an article was reassigned to chat by the admin mods, it generated no further comments except maybe funny or ridiculous pictures being posted in response as comments.
Since I can't type other than hunt and peck, and most of the health and medicine articles that I post are of the "for what it's worth" or "for your information" nature, I will continue making direct links to most of the health and medicine articles as unrelated links in comments to other health and science threads when I ping you for the health and science ping list, as opposed to going to the trouble of posting the article. This will probably be the case with almost all articles that require excerpting.
Thanks for the ping. It's stunning you can do such a good job - and do it with the hunt and peck system.
Exactly! LOL!
I'm not getting a pic or a link, but I suspect it's funny... Want to try again?
makes sense.
I've always thought there should be a "Chat" and "Semi-Chat" section, for that very reason.
My Preferences is set up so I can see Chat threads because otherwise, I would miss some good threads, but it can be quite annoying at times to wade through it all.
Shouldn't this be in "chat"?
(ducking)
Hey, you guys started this.
I burned DU with this one a couple of years ago!!
It was great fun!!
I wish the list of "must exerpt" or "no post " list were easier to find. I sometimes find an article from an obscure source that I am not sure about. Could this be placed on the homepage somewhere - maybe around the info about the LATimes thing?
Is Reason magazine considered a "blog" for the purposes of that forum?
What about the rule to post a vanity to breaking news upon signing up to announce your arrival?
...a longstanding tradition on FR, right?
As someones who's been around here you should know that this is only allowed if a poster is going to tell the "TRUTH" about George Bush and how stupid he is...or how he's a tool of big oil, and how we the great unwashed need to wake up brfore it's too late.
I second that request. It took me about an hour to trace it with a keyword search.
A link on the source page would eliminate much of the confusion, thus helping the mods...
just a thought....
