Freeper Harry Clark (The Other Harry) has passed away
Aug 9, 2005

I just received an email message from a long time friend of Harry Clark. She says he passed away yesterday at his home in Virginia. She also says he will be greatly missed for his quirky sense of humor and quick mind. If you got past his superficial BS shell, he was a wonderful person.

He will be greatly missed.

A very sad ping concerning The King of the Vanity.

(If what I just wrote makes you sad or angry,

 it was probably sarcasm)

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm going to miss his quirky vanities.

"Indeed. I don't know what to think at this point. I was one of those who made some pretty harsh posts about Harry on his threads."

He pretty much asked for the harshness. I mean, when you post that it's ok for men to breastfeed babies, even though there is no milk, you're pretty much asking to have your butt kicked. That said, I too would like to see an obit.

That's really sad. Alcohol use a contributing factor? We traded some mails about the problem.

If so, then as they say in the program I attend, "some of us must die so that others may live."

I pray for his family's comfort, and that G-d recieve His child with love.

I mean, when you post that it's ok for men to breastfeed babies...

I do it for the excitement*.

* That one was for you, Harry.

Oh no! I am so very sorry to hear this. I remember he was very open about his struggle with alcohol. He was truly the King of Vanities. He will be missed. =(

LOL, God will certainly get past the shell. May his soul rest in peace.

I am very sad to hear of this. TOH's vanities were a guilty pleasure of mine; I enjoyed his style of writing very much. Thank you to FR for allowing me to "get to know" this talented person.

If I die this way, it doesn't really matter. I will die anyway. There are, however, other things that do matter

Harry wrote this to an FRmail regarding his alcoholism back in June. How prophetic. I am only sharing this part of the email but he did always try to combate his alcoholism. I will miss his posts.

See post no. 142 on TOH's vanity "Advice on Buying a Pony" thread. I am HTML challenged, otherwise I would post it here.

I don't imagine this is how I should post this but did want the folks here in FR to know,
The Other Harry , (Harry Clark), passed away at his home in Virginia Monday 8/8/2005
I know he enjoyed his time on FR and past many hours and had many a good chuckle here.
He was a bright, good man in many ways. He had his faults as we all do I know, but he was a good friend to many people, one of my
BEST FRIENDS... He did love his dog Peppi, and he was very good to his neighbors and they liked him. (except one) He was not freaky about children as some here suggested. He sometimes however did have a caustic Wit.. I for one, loved him dearly, and always will. He will be greatly missed. Thought some of you would like to know. Sheila

He has been sick. He kept posting asking for FReeper medical advice. He was also an admitted alcoholic. According to his posts, he had quite a few problems, and spent the weekend in the hospital about a month ago. Checked himself out AMA.
