Author says prepare for nuclear terror

NUCLEAR WAR-FEAR Author says prepare for nuclear terror Former official: Not trying to cause panic, but prevent it

U.S. officials should get serious about nuclear terrorism by urging Americans to prepare for disaster by stockpiling food, water, building shelters and planning evacuation routes, says an author and former member of the Indiana House of Representatives.

In response to reports al-Qaida is planning an "American Hiroshima" nuclear attack on the U.S. using weapons and operative already smuggled into the country, Don Boys, author of Islam: America's Trojan Horse, says he is not trying to panic the public.

"In a few days or weeks, everyone who has not prepared for disaster will panic," he says. "I would like for you to realize that you may have already waited too long to properly prepare, and if you wait much longer, it will be too late to buy gold, guns, and groceries. ... The name of the game will be survival, only survival. Forget the job since it will be gone. Your Social Security or pension check? Don't count on it. Protection from local authorities? Probably not. You will be on your own."

Boys bases his advice on the words of U.S. officials – from President Bush to Vice President Dick Cheney to the directors of the FBI and Homeland Security – who have said nuclear terrorism is the greatest threat facing the nation and a virtual inevitability at some point.

"If U.S. officials are wrong and there is no danger from terrorists ... then breathe a sigh of relief, thank God for His mercy and continue with your life," he says. "However, if you are wrong (and U.S. officials are right), you and your family will be cold, hungry, and dependent on others to provide for your basic needs. Is it wise to take such an unnecessary risk?"

Boys suggests Americans purchase non-electric tools, guns, ammunition, food and toilet paper. He says it would be wise to set aside small bills as well as quarters.

"A few boxes of No-Rad (potassium iodide anti-radiation tablets) will be more valuable than gold if you are in a contaminated area," he says. "Get a supply today."

WND has reported that captured al-Qaida leaders and documents outline plans for a devastating terrorist nuclear attack on the U.S. – plans that have been under way for more than a decade. The reports are confirmed by author Paul Williams in his upcoming book, "The Al Qaeda Connection."

Intelligence analysts and sources disagree on the details of the way bin Laden's "American Hiroshima" plan unfolds. Some G2 Bulletin sources emphasize bin Laden's commitment to re-enacting the 1945 attack on Japan with one nuclear detonation, followed by another days later.

Williams, however, sees a much more devastating, coordinated, all-out, surprise attack coming.

"The next attack, according to al-Qaida defectors and informants, will take place simultaneously at various sites throughout the country," he writes. "Designated targets include New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Houston, Las Vegas, and Valdez, Alaska, where the tankers are filled with oil from the Trans-Alaska pipeline. To orchestrate such an incredible event requires not only the shipment of the nukes into the United States but also the establishment of cells, the training of sleeper agents, the selection of sites, and the preparation of the weapons without detection from federal, state or local law enforcement officials. Unlike 9-11, that cost less than $350,000, this event already has cost a king's ransom, and bin Laden will not waste the billions in expenditures, the years of planning and his coveted 'crown jewels' on an attack that is ill-planned, poorly timed and carelessly coordinated."

Other sources interpret some of the same information, based on captured al-Qaida operatives and documents as well as defectors, differently. They project an escalating series of attacks, each followed by blackmail demands upon the U.S. government and the American people.

"Well I heard about 3-4 weeks ago that intelligence is saying multiple nuke attack within 90 days.
I am not laughing it off but realize there isn't much to do but pray."

You really are applying the cold war logic right now. The MAD scenario is not what is going to happen. I think they may even have trouble nuking more than a couple cities. That is not even whole counties, or states, just a couple cities. Now if you are at ground zero...sure you will die, but even people in Hiroshima lived through the blast!!!

Please read the myths versus the facts!!!
http://www.oism.org/nwss/s73p912.htm

"Myth: In theworst-hit parts of Hiroshima and Nagasaki where all buildings were demolished, everyone was killed by blast, radiation, or fire.

° Facts: InNagasaki, some people survived uninjured who were far inside tunnel shelters built for conventional air raids and located as close as one-third mile from ground zero (the point directly below the explosion). This was true even though these long, large shelters lacked blast doors and were deep inside the zone within which all buildings were destroyed. (People far inside long, large, open shelters are better protected than are those inside small, open shelters.)"

There is so much you can do to prepare! Just let go of your apathy and get to it!

From what I have read they were not competent to fly aircraft. However, they were able to keep them in the air long enough to hit the towers, which I guess is what matters. Of course, I think it's irrelvent. I'm not saying the terrorists are devoid of any intelligence. Culturally, Islamic Arab terrorists are the most militarily icompetent people on the face of the planet. This is why they resort to killing innocent civilians through suicide attacks. Their nihilstic approach to war relies far too much on divine intervention and self delusion to be able to do something as complicated as smuggle and detonate nukes in this country.

Agreed, but the current state of our society leads me to believe that no tenough have yet to wake up to see the reality of the threat we face.

It would appear most Freepers don't get it either ....

The number one reason why people may have to leave their homes is in search of purified water.

I love having Boy Scouts. This summer at camp they rigged up a system to strain, filter, and purify water. Then they scooped up buckets of water from the lake, proceeded to treat it, and mixed up a batch of KoolAid with it (which I had no qualms about drinking right along with them). To date no one has suffered any ill effects from drinking that water from the lake. I have every confidence that, should the need arise, we can easily do the same thing here. (Of course that won't preclude me from having some gallon jugs from Food Lion in the basement!)

Anecdotally, a few years ago our water treatment plant suffered effects from a power outage. Water from the tap was brown and smelly, and residents were strongly advised to boil, boil, boil. Stores quickly sold out of bottled water, and nearby towns trucked thousands of gallon jugs in. It took about three days for the city to get everything back to normal where we could drink tap water again. Having clean drinking water is something most people don't even think about -- until it's no longer flowing freely.

Joe's getting his money's worth out of this one....

Farah is a loon but he has just enough people who will believe everything he says.

Personally, I'm still waiting for the massive Iranian EMP he promised would happen.

This is just what I read a couple of weeks ago about a prophecy that Bob Jones and Joni Ames related. They saw about 30 cities hit by nuclear bombs. Quix also posted a prophecy. I would take this very seriously.

Well, you probably won't be able to buy any so what's the harm of buying some ahead of time?

Yes, I heartily agree. We still have batteries left over and tomato soup (LOL). I think it was a forerunner, myself. And I have always said it was the preparation ahead of time that prevented it from being a disaster.

Families always had a pantry in the olden days. I think it's necessary no matter what.

We are all different.

In this scenario I would need no outhouse. I'd need a shower and a new pair of pants. ;)

"Having clean drinking water is something most people don't even think about -- until it's no longer flowing freely."

I really think if those who are feeling the need to prepare would simply go to Sam's club and purchase enough bottled water for their own family (one gallon per person per day), and some protein bars - most could afford to do this and be self sufficient for a couple weeks while fallout radiation disperses.

The cool thing about this article linked from world net daily is that the author teaches you how to make a shelter from materials you already have in your own home. Here is the link:
http://www.ki4u.com/guide.htm

Reading it really motivated us to take this final step and build the shelter last week. It took about a hundred bucks of materials from home depot to purchase the infrastructure, and we built the walls with stuff in our basement. Here is the link to pictures as well as what I blogged about all week on American Hiroshima:

http://www.naturalfamilyblog.com/archives/2005/08/american_hirosh.html

Please note that it took a total of about 35 man hours to buy the materials, tote them down to the basement and build the shelter, and even though it looks simple, the work was difficult and sweaty. The kids were great to help though, and it is nice to finally have this thing ready to go in our basement.

One chilling interpretation as to why there's been no attacks here since 911 might be this:
A series of small conventional attacks here, like those in London or Spain, would stimulate a much higher level of security here.

And a higher level of security would make smuggling and positioning multiple WMDs much harder to accomplish.

It makes very scary sense to me.

If bin Laden is up to something big, he will walk on tip-toe until it's ready.

Jenny:

If you don't already have it I enthusiastically recommend getting a copy of "Life After Doomsday - A survivalist Guide to Nuclear War and Other major Disasters." Written during the Cold War by Dr. Bruce Clayton, it is a fantastic high level survey of what average citizens may need to know should the unthinkable happen. It's published by Paladin Press and I believe is still available. I replaced my long lost copy through Amazon a couple of years ago. The data on weapons effects is lifted directly from Gladstone's "The Effects of Nuclear Weapons" which is considered to be a pretty much unimpeachable study of the effects drawn from weapon tests both in Nevada and the Pacific. It also covers shelter defense, food and medicine, and expedient medical care.

I make a point of always knowing where my copy is. It's an easy read, not burdonsome in length and technical depth and very comprehensive.

Good on 'ya for taking preparations so seriously. Hopefully you (and all of us) will never need them, but those who prepare will fare much beter than those who don't if the terrible thing ever does happen.

I'm reminded of a story of a dream that Washington had when he was still fighting the British.

It was of a woman who allegedly gave Washington a series of glimpses of the future of our country. The last part ended up with Washington being showed Cities in America that had been laid waste.

I'll try to find this story and post it or send it to you in email.

I don't know how much truth there is to it but in light of current world conditions it may have some validity to it.

Thanks for the book title, I've read dozens of them over the years, and my favorite is Cresson Kearny's. I'll check our yours though.

I do think it would be the height of irony if after all this effort where I live was one of the first to be hit.

But I am ready to meet my maker, and if that is what happens, so be it. I just feel better knowing we have the supplies on hand to help, and I am not afraid of work even if that work entails some major gardening, pruning, and/or cutting and threshing of grains. I feel myself waxing biblical here....perhaps the melting down of swords in order to make plows and pruning hooks is simply because there is some major plowing and pruning that will need to be done. http://scriptures.lds.org/isa/2/4#4

Isaiah 2:4

Reading Alas Babylon by Pat Frank and Folk of the Fringe by Orson Scott Card are good psychological preps to life after nuclear war followed by major disruptions in services. I have read both many times, and they have helped in the education process.

I can't find anything on the web site about it now. I am not a subscriber and it only goes as far back as July12. I heard this by someone who gathers the info around July4 or so. That's already about 30 days later. I am counting!!
I believe Paul Williams has a book on this also, but I've not heard him mention a timeline like "within 90 days".
Which is what I heard.

Your family is very lucky to have a strong person like you. We've raised our children to know how to cook on a fire or wood stove from basic ingredients, and how to perform tasks that don't require electricity, etc. You know, like they used to do stuff in the old days...hahaha... Anyway, all 3 are very well versed in surviving without luxuries in modern day life.
