Castro Lovers Bash Bush as 'Tyrant' -- But Jesse, Harry, and Charlie Love Fidel
Human Events Online ^ | August 10, 2005 | Humberto Fontova

"Bush is a tyrant," declared Harry Belafonte at last week's Atlanta march commemorating the Voting Rights Act of 1965. When CNS reporter Marc Morano asked the calypso king about the blacks serving in the Bush administration, "Black tyrants!" came Belafonte's tart reply.

A few years ago Belafonte was asked about his friend Fidel Castro. Here's a "Cuban leader" (the term used by the late Peter Jennings) who jailed more political prisoners as a percentage of population than Hitler or Stalin. Here's a "Cuban Premier" (as Barbara Walters prefers) who executed more political prisoners in his first year in power than Hitler did in his first five. Here's a "Cuban President" (Dan Rather's term) who jailed or executed any union official, journalist, or political opponent who uttered a peep against him.

"If you believe in freedom!" Belafonte quickly replied. "If you believe in justice, if you believe in democracy-- you have no choice but to support Fidel Castro!" (Fidel: Hollywood's Favorite Tyrant, p.11)

It's hard to know where to begin responding to a mentality like Belafonte's. So let's proceed to other luminaries at the Atlanta march.

Jesse Jackson made the scene and declared . . .

Send all the commie lovers to Cuba -- ONE WAY. And revoke their U.S. citizenships. Then they can whine all they want from the beaches of Cuba, never to again dirty our country.

People should look up Cuba's history in Africa before they label Castro a victim of the US.

Half of the problems Africa now has can be traced to Cuba formenting civil war and supplying military equipment to communist rebels in Africa.

Belafonte's lack of class is equal only to his bitterness towards America.

Perhaps the reason why Belafonte reveres Castro so much is because Belafonte has never left the plantation and loves a master.

Belefonte also unveiled a new rewrite on WW II history. Jews were higher-ups in Hitler's Germany. Who knew ?

"If you believe in freedom!" Belafonte quickly replied. "If you believe in justice, if you believe in democracy-- you have no choice but to support Fidel Castro!"

So that must explain why I know, personally, at least five native Cubans who risked their lives coming over on innertubes and home-made rafts.

I attended grad school for writing in Miami, and had to live "in-the-closet" as a conservative. The only other conservatives were the handful of Cuban students in the program. The horror stories I heard about life in the People's Paradise would chill your blood.

It's like cheering Hitler or crying over Stalin. These people are beyond being eccentric or bizarre.

Then they can whine all they want from the beaches of Cuba

the ironic thing is that they actually cant whine from the beaches of Cuba(no political dissent allowed), maybe thats why they are still here.

Also many gay leftists love Castro, even though his regime is one of the most repressive regimes against homosexuals.

These people ARE REALLY GETTING ON MY NERVES! The words that flash through my mind about what I want to do to these men would make even Satan frightened. If I ever saw Harry Belafonte, I would spit in his face, and then probably beat the sh*^ out of him before making the whole free world, and repressed world, know that he loves to kiss Castro's...

If he ever sets foot in my hometown, I would...

in fear of Admin Moderator, I shall discontinue this post.

Why the hell don't they move to Cuba? If it's their idea of paradise they sure need to relocate. I never thought much of Belafonte as an actor, but Jesse is one of the best actors extortion money can buy. Har! Har!
