Hour number three is the manhood hour with Dr. Robert Brumfield, pastor of the Oakgrove 1st AME church of Detroit. There are two places you don't want to be if you value your safety. One is laid up in a trailer with Sweet Thang watching "Green Acres" reruns when a tornado strikes. The other is standing between the Rev. Jesse Jackson and a hot microphone when a black celebrity dies. Just think of a famous black person who has died within the past 30 years. Now try to picture Jesse not at the funeral. You can bet your last copy of "Thriller" that when Michael Jackson is laid to rest today, Jesse will be there. The reverend has become a...

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich in early December to discuss the seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama, his spokesman said. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid didn't want Rep. Jesse Jackson in the Senate, a point he made clear to Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich in a conversation about filling Barack Obama's vacant Senate seat, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) -- U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. said Friday that he was fighting to get "my name back" after he was identified as "Senate Candidate 5" in a criminal complaint against Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. says neither he nor any emissaries offered favors in exchange for a Senate appointment. Jackson, the son of famed civil rights leader Jesse Jackson and a six-term Democratic congressman from Chicago, had publicly sought to succeed President-elect Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate. Jackson had talked to Blagojevich, the person with the sole power to make the appointment, on...

PREPARE for a new America: That's the message that the Rev. Jesse Jackson conveyed to participants in the first World Policy Forum, held at this French lakeside resort last week. He promised "fundamental changes" in US foreign policy - saying America must "heal wounds" it has caused to other nations, revive its alliances and apologize for the "arrogance of the Bush administration." ...

Speculation is rife over who would be appointed to fill Barack Obama's U.S. Senate seat should the Illinois Democrat be elected president, observers say. Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, a Democrat, would make the call on who would succeed Obama in the U.S. Senate if the party's likely presidential nominee wins the White House in November. One name mentioned is U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., D-Ill., the Chicago Tribune quotes Congressional Quarterly as saying Saturday. Jackson is the son of the U.S. civil rights leader Jesse Jackson Sr. and represents a district on the South Side of Chicago. He is national...

The following "joke" is meant for circulation. Its real purpose is to demonstrate that Barack Obama lacks character along with the courage to act on the values that most of us take for granted (not empowering and enabling racists and anti-Semites, not condoning insults to our Armed Forces). It brings in Michelle Obama deliberately, noting that she has already done and said things that could undermine his campaign. Jesse Jackson Can't Castrate Barack Obama The fact that most of what Obama SAYS is bull does not make him one.Barack Obama lacked the cojones to reject the endorsement of Louis Farrakhan...

The big winner in all of this will be Jesse Jackson. As Obama fails to live up to his teleprompter image and the media can't protect the legend in the making that they've tried to build, he will end up losing the election. When that happens the democrats will go into their normal recount or litigate mode and the inevitable chant will be RACISM, RACISM. At that point Jesse and Al, the justice brothers will step forward to proclaim a full time enduring state of victimhood, demand reparations and widen the dividing of the country on racial lines. At that...

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., says that he won’t back down on his “tough love” message to African Americans -– a subject that prompted Jesse Jackson's angry open-mic gaffe this past week. Obama told reporters aboard his plane to San Diego that Americans need to recognize that there is a problem when more than a half of African American children are growing up without a father in the house. “That is a problem and I won’t back up one bit in asserting that that’s a problem that we have to be honest about," he said. Obama’s tough love message to African...

For seemingly the first time ever, Jesse Jackson has actually given an apology instead of demanding one. What happened? While waiting for an interview, a microphone caught him whispering: “See, Barack’s been talking down to black people on this faith-based . . . I wanna cut his nuts off. Barack, he’s talking down to black people.” And for what also seems to be the first time ever, Jesse Jackson is correct. Not about the castration, of course, that’s wrong and probably illegal in most states. (And can anyone explain how advocating privates-chopping is better than saying “nappy-headed hoes”?)

HOW much player-hate can fester in one man's heart? Apparently, quite a lot if you're the Windy City's World-Class Windbag. Jesse Jackson has spent his entire life in love with the microphone. He knows them intimately. He's such an aficionado of the mike that Detroit's beloved late mayor, Coleman Young, dismissed one of Jackson's failed vanity bids for the presidency by noting that "all he's ever run is his mouth." Jackson's claim to have been caught unbeknownst by a "hot mike" slurring and threatening Barack Obama is complete hogwash. Somewhere, deep down, he wanted the world - and Obama -...

WASHINGTON - In a vulgar tirade caught on tape by Fox News, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said he wanted to "cut his [Barack Obama's] nuts out" and he accused the fellow Chicagoan of "talking down to black folks" by giving moral lectures to African-Americans, source said Jackson's shocking quotes were picked up by a hot mic before an interview on health care in Fox's Chicago studio last Sunday Fox planned to air the recording on Bill O'Reilly's "The Factor" show.

From the department of completely obvious. I thought it was an interesting insight into how political celebrities manage the media: create controversy to remain relevant. Like Jane Fonda using the "C" word, Dianne Keaton the "F" bomb on morning television, Jackson goes into the belly of the beast (Fox News) and says something outrageous just to tell The Chosen One: hey Obama, throw me a bone already!
-
Just a general query; when Jesse Jackson said he wanted to cut Obama's nuts off, wasn't he recalling a time when black men were lynched? I remember reading history and when such terrible events happened, black men were treated in just the way Jesse suggested. So would it be fair to say Jesse Jackson has done the equivalent of hanging a noose? I can imagine what the press would be doing today if John McCain had said he wanted to cut Obama's nuts off. Any thoughts?

Breaking: The O'Reilly Factor will air exclusive video of the Rev. Jesse Jackson making disparaging comments about Sen. Barack Obama. TVNewser has learned the comments were made prior to an interview Jackson did Sunday morning on Fox & Friends. We're told some of the comments are so raw that O'Reilly will most likely only run a couple of soundbites. The video will show Jackson chatting with Reid Tuckson, EVP of United Health Group. The two were at Fox News Channel's Chicago bureau getting ready to be interviewed about a new health care initiative. Jackson was apparently unaware his microphone was...

According to Jackson, a Fox News microphone picked up comments he meant to deliver privately that seemed to disparage the presumptive Democratic nominee for appearing to lecture the black community on morality. "For any harm or hurt that this hot mic private conversation may have caused, I apologize," Jackson said in a statement issued to CNN. "My support for Senator Obama’s campaign is wide, deep and unequivocal. I cherish this redemptive and historical moment."

Jackson Criticizes Obama's Sub-Prime Rescue PlanWall Street Economic Project Sees Pessimistic Outlook The Weekly Black News Drum, News Feature, Robert Taylor, Posted: Jan 16, 2008 Editor's note: Robert Taylor's full title read, "Jesse Jackson’s 'Wall Street Project Economic Summit' Paints Pessimistic Picture of Black America." The article underscores Obama's very calculated crafting of a middle path to the White House while even some of his supporters, like Jackson, see the need for a more radical approach to some of the structural issues that beset low-income and African-American communities. As one participant put it “pessimism was hard to avoid” during the...

From 1866 to 1965, less than 6,000 black Americans were lynched in America. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynching_in_the_United_States In currently times, the approximate number of blacks and whites killed by “black on black” and “white on white” crimes is equal to about the same number. Blacks = 6,000 per year; Whites = 6,000 per year http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/homicide/race.htm Therefore, about 5,000 black Americans are killed each year due to failures in black America. The questions becomes, “who’s responsible???”.

The economic outlook for Africa is improving after a decade of growth of 5.4% for the continent that matches global rates, the World Bank has said. The trend indicates that a fundamental change is occurring in Africa, a World Bank official told the BBC. But the bank's latest report, Africa Development Indicators 2007 (ADI), says ongoing investment is needed to sustain long-term development on the continent. Otherwise, a split may grow between affluent nations and stagnant ones. The report looked at more than 1,000 indicators covering economic, human and private-sector development, governance, the environment and aid. It concludes that growth...

Many, many thanks to all of the FRiends who objectively posted comments about an American far, far worst then David Duke to the future of America. Despite no evidence of legal wrongdoing, the Rev. Jesse Jackson wants a Lake Barrington gun plant shut down. Jackson, founder and CEO of the Chicago-based Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, will at noon today lead a protest in front of D.S. Arms, a gun manufacturer that's been registered in Lake Barrington since 1998. More than 30 protests to ban assault weapons are planned today around the country. Stopping gun manufacturing would halt illegal distribution of firearms, which feeds into the illegal drug trade, Jackson argues. "This is not about Barrington; it's about gun death, and gun manufacturing," Jackson said. Jackson wants residents to...

Jackson faces jury trial after arrest over gun shop demonstrationBy MICHAEL TARM | Associated Press Writer 6:55 PM CDT, August 6, 2007 MARKHAM, Ill. - It's familiar territory for the Rev. Jesse Jackson: Facing legal trouble for his activist politics. This time it's for protesting gun sales he says provide Chicago gang members and criminals easy access to firearms, with deadly consequences. Jackson, 65, has been arrested about 15 times during his career as a civil rights leader, dating back to the 1960s when he worked closely with Martin Luther King Jr., said spokeswoman Rashida Restaino. On Monday, a relaxed-looking...

Civil rights leader Jesse Jackson said Thursday he's backing Democrat Barack Obama in his presidential bid, giving his support to a new generation of black politicians. ''He has my vote,'' the Rev. Jackson said. Jackson sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 1984 and 1988, winning 13 primaries and caucuses in 1988. Jackson represents a different era of black politician, battle-tested by the civil rights struggles of the 1960s with Martin Luther King Jr. In a statement responding to Jackson's support, Obama said, ''This campaign has been about giving hope since Day One and I am proud to have the support...

HE is a media darling, a paparazzi target and a source of inspiration for millions of Democrats who dream of retaking the White House in 2008. But Senator Barack Obama, the charismatic African-American who is shaking up the presidential primary race, has not impressed some of America’s most powerful black activists. Civil rights leaders who have dominated black politics for much of the past two decades have pointedly failed to embrace the 45-year-old Illinois senator who is considering a bid to become America’s first black president. At a meeting of activists in New York last week, the Rev Jesse Jackson,...

The actor best known as "Kramer" from the show Seinfeld has apologized on Reverand Jesse Jackson's syndicated radio show for a racist outburst he made at a comedy club ten days ago. Michael Richards says it wasn't bigotry, but anger which fueled the swear loaded shoutfest. Richards told Jackson that he never before has used racially charged language, and that the comments he made came through him "like a freight train." Rev. Jackson reacted to the apology by calling the outburst "hateful", but claimed the show was an opportunity for discussions on the entertainment industry's "cultural isolation."

November 25, 2006 - The Reverend Jesse Jackson says actor Michael Richards' racial tirade during a standup comedy routine amounts to -- quote -- "hate speech." Jackson said this morning that Richards called and apologized for his rant against two black hecklers in a Los Angeles comedy club. Jackson says he advised Richards to see a psychiatrist to discover why he's angry and hostile toward black people, and also to undergo race sensitivity training. He says Richards' point of view wasn't just a slip of the tongue, and is a symbol of deep-seeded feelings in the culture and in Hollywood....

When American families gather to give thanks this week, all of us should say a prayer for the young men and women putting their lives at risk in Iraq and Afghanistan and serving in Bosnia and hundreds of other bases across the world. They are of all races and creeds. Some come from proud military families with generations of service. Some are new Americans, whose families have only recently come to this country. In Iraq and Afghanistan, their duty is hazardous and difficult. They deserve our thanks and respect. They have served with courage and honor, but have been deeply...

The Reverend Jackson by: Jenni Vinson Trejo September 1, 2006 In 2001, the scandal storm cloud that hovered over Washington DC rained on the Reverend Jesse Jackson and for once, he was one who got soaked. First, there was the disclosure that he fathered a child with a subordinate from the Rainbow Coalition. That was, in and of itself, quite startling. Jesse Jackson has set himself up as a moral leader not just for the black Community, but for America. He has preached to us the immorality of a variety of issues as they pertain to white America’s interaction with...

Joe Lieberman has been in the Senate for 18 years. He's a leader of the Democratic Leadership Council, the money wing of the party. He became the party's vice presidential nominee, even as he championed the DLC's "triangulating" politics, pushing off of the Democratic Party base to demonstrate his "independence" by embracing key elements of the conservative agenda -- championing the war in Iraq, attacking affirmative action, pushing capital gains tax cuts that benefit only the very wealthy. Now he's pushed off so long, he seems confused about whom or what he represents. He now says he's a good Democrat,...

"These two leaders represent hope and bring voice to many people who have been disenfranchised," Lamont spokeswoman Liz Dupont-Diehl said of the two. "We are very pleased they have come to support Ned. It shows that the campaign is about hope,...

The documents seized in the FBI raid on the offices of Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA) remain unread by Justice Department investigators, pending a federal Appeals Court ruling scheduled for August 27. Jefferson is anxious to overturn the ruling of federal Judge Hogan of the Washington, DC federal District Court, who allowed the raid. One can only surmise that the seized documents contain material even more embarrassing than the discovery of $90,000 in cash in Jefferson’s freezer. But we already know a bit about the charges and some of the alleged partners of Congressman Jefferson. Two people have pleaded guilty to...

I apologize up front if this isn't in the right area. Yesterday, on the 4th of July, my dog Jesse suffered a brain aneurysm. She is in very bad shape right now. MINORITY REPORT Jesse Jackson 'exposed' in reportTrial uncovers new details of leader's 'shakedown' tactics Posted: June 24, 2006 1:00 a.m. Eastern © 2006 WorldNetDaily.com Jesse Jackson Government watchdog Judicial Watch has released a report it says reveals new details about the intimidation and shakedown tactics of Jesse Jackson's Rainbow Push Coalition. Judicial Watch says that while some of Jackson's tactics have been published, this report offers new information gathered during the discovery...

Perhaps this will finally put this sad chapter to bed once and for all. I, through some old connections, have managed to come up with the unaltered DD214 of Jesse MacBeth. This isn't a joke or some funny little photoshop gig. It is the actual, real DD214 of one Jesse Adam Macbeth.

There they go again. The Republican National Committee, the right-wing noise machine and their spear carriers in the mainstream media, have been in attack mode over the last few weeks. This time their target is Rep. John Conyers, the distinguished senior Democrat who will become chairman of the House Judiciary Committee if Democrats win the House back this fall. With the president and the DeLay Congress about as popular as big oil CEOs, the RNC is desperate to demonize Democrats. So they cooked up a campaign claiming that if Democrats win the House, Conyers is geared up to impeach the...

NEW YORK (AP) - The Rev. Jesse Jackson says Major League Baseball and San Diego police failed to protect Barry Bonds and should be trying to find out who threw a syringe at him in the Giants' opener. The object was thrown near the San Francisco slugger as he came off the field following the eighth inning Monday night in San Diego. Bonds picked up the syringe - about the size of a fat cigar - and carried it off the field. "That fan should have been arrested," Jackson said. "That object could have had a needle in it. It...

OK, I am going to give most of you the day off. The rest of you need to pay close attention. You have some work to do. A lot of you I know like a book. That comes from almost a decade of responding to your letters and emails on a variety of subjects. You've told me in no uncertain terms that you don't like watching cowboys kiss each other. In fact, watching the media gush over boys marrying boys and girls marrying girls makes you want to upchuck your biscuits and gravy. You don't have much tolerance for those...

One resolution for the new year: Let's be clear about the choices we're making as a country. I'm certain that if Americans understood the choices being made, they would be outraged -- whether conservative or liberal, rich or poor, whatever their race, religion or region. Consider one choice that Congress is about to make. If the current leadership has its way, Congress will pass more than $100 billion in tax cuts early this year, the vast bulk of which will go to the very wealthy. At the same time, it will cast the final vote to make the largest cut...

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson said Tuesday that Wall Street has "a long way to go" in establishing parity for minorities. Jackson said access to capital is the final stage after the ending of legal slavery and segregation and the winning of the right to vote "in our struggle to make this a more perfect union". In an interview before a Reuters Newsmaker event in New York called "Diversity on Wall Street: the quest for equity and parity," Jackson said: "Wall Street is the ultimate mountain to be climbed." Jackson cited the U.S. mutual fund...

Is the Internal Revenue Service starting to police free speech in America? Has it, in this administration of cronies and corruption, become an arm of the White House, using tax law to squelch those who would question the president?
