WASHINGTON — The federal commission that probed the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks was told twice about "Able Danger," a military intelligence unit that had identified Mohamed Atta and other hijackers a year before the attacks, a congressman close to the investigation said Wednesday.

I was saying that on the other thread...

Richard Clarke HAD to know that 9/11 was his and Clinton's fault.

...To protect Clinton from investigations between different agencies regarding his fund raising from the Chinese and selling them technology.

Bingo, I do remember that. It is quite possible the Chinese wall was directly ordered by Clinton. We'll never know, of course. If anyone takes a fall for this it will be Gorelick.

Question: Exactly WHO "permitted" Sandy Berger to pilfer the classified information nobody's allowed to see?

The most important political question here is: WHAT WAS HILLARY'S INVOLVEMENT IN CONSTRUCTING THE WALL? If she was involved, she is chopped liver in 2008.

The R's now have a good reason to run this to the ground and we can do it with House and Senate investigations--they have subpoena power and can call Gorelick or even her heinousness as a witness.

Everyone, call your congressman and demand an investigation of the Able/Danger data on Atta, why it didn't get to the FBI, and who was at fault at the top in creating the Wall. This is political dynamite but it will take senate or house hearings to force the Old Media to take it seriously. The blogosphere can only go so far.

Also, go on your favorite blogs and start posting about it. Let's keep the issue bubbling everday.

We need to write very calm but pointed letter to each of our elected representatives in D.C. (Sadly my two Senators are Durbin and Obama)...both with emails, snail mail letters, and phone calls. It's clear that the 09/11 Commission didn't do their job, it's clear that the Clinton Administration utterly failed in it's job to protect America, and it's clear that Bush need to shove the "new tone" business out the door...now.

Ask for hearings!

"What a joke that the big bad Clinton admin was tough on terror."

Exactly. And all the former Clintonistas had their line down - oh yes sir, we were tough on terrorism, we were really diligent in dealing with those terrorists. Which explains why Al Qaeda was able to plan and carry out the 9/11 attacks. I wonder how Richard Clarke feels, knowing that the Sandy Berger he praised in hearings was caught stealing Top Secret documents in which Clarke advocated killing bin Laden - and that Berger opposed it. Perhaps Clarke is so emotionally dead from his many years in Washington that he doesn't really care.

And how about Kean and Hamilton, trying to conduct the hearing in a gentlemanly manner? That only works with gentlemen. When you have people like Ben-Veniste and Gorelick on the committee, you have to expect partisan axe jobs. Ben-Veniste attempt to trash Condoleeza Rice was a low point in his career.

Hillary's senatorial campaign could not have withstood the political fallout from the Arab community that would have followed had the Clinton Administration pursued this.

Those were the real political concerns, not Waco. That bunch of heathens couldn't give a rat's a$$ about Waco.

Janet Reno was the worst Attorney General since John Mitchell. The only thing that distinguished her tenure was that she was a woman.

This would be an appropriate time to investigate just what was Gorelick's role on the committee.

Whoa...

You're assuming W and the GOP want to blow this thing wide open.

They don't.

They've known all about this all along, but then they've had knowledge of about 1001 reasons to indict Hillary and Bubba, but the fix-is-in. Has been ever since Dubya was elected back in 1992.

I realize it's fun to fantasize, but Craig Livingstone, Sandy Berger, Janet Reno, Madelyn Albright got away with bloody murder, and now Jamie Gorlick will get her slap on the wrist, then disappear. Quietly, like the rest of them.

"She stated that the information came into the committee thru Gorelick and one other and it was they who decided what information was forwarded to other members"

Like I said, time to investigate Gorelick's role and how information was presented to the committee.

We're all sophisticated enough to know that the Committee members didn't ponder over every finding in the Report, nor did they write it.

"Harm HAS been done... and the MSM needs to made accountable."

It's also the MSM's job to investigate this. Not that I believe they will, but that is what they are supposed to do.
