I just heard a Fox Radio News break...

Mike Tobin of Fox News was talking about the order to vacate given to the Gaza Israelis...

He ended the report with something about "Israels decades long "occupation" of the Gaza Strip"...

THAT seemed like a very "political" way of describing this, to me? Maybe I am just being overly sensitive...but I would think he could say something about being made to leave their "homes" of decades instead of their occupation of decades...bah!

I know what you mean. Along with you and others I feel totally helpless..and hapless.

I can't imagine what it is like for the Jewish families that live here, and see what is being done over there. It must be SO hard.

I saw on Fox tonight that most of the protestors are staying together in a synagogue...rather than spread out over the settlement.

I suspect that the IDF are not too eager to try to get them out...especially if it looks like they would have to use "force".

It is just a facade. There is no inside.

We see those children and believe them innocent, but are they really? Can they be saved, without endangering their adoptive parents, and their new surroundings?

Under Israeli law they are. Under International Law, US law etc etc. If someone commits a crime then lock them up, if someone tries to shoot you then shoot back but you cannot kill an entire group of people without discriminating who has it coming and who does not.

I understand if Israelis want to get the terrorists but Israel has the moral highground because they do not target civilians.

It's quite literally true. Israel has militarily held Gaza without annexing it, without considering it part of Israel. That's called "occupying". It's not neccesarily a bad word.

Settlement advocates object to its use because of the Geneva Convention implications. But if the shoe fits...

I was just curious as to whether Palestinian children could be adopted? Remember the problems people had with the Romanian orphans?

Imo, Israel has always taken the moral high ground, and look where its gotten them. Terrorist have no moral high ground, however they count on Israel and the United States to maintain theirs, so they can continue to operate.

I was watching FNC this morning when they were in the house of some family in GAZA...it was heartbreaking.

I thought this thread would have hundreds of posts this morning...what is up?

Can you please tell me? I have been on the road and unable to watch TV since this morning...

I would, but I've had FNC in the background, and not really paying any attention.

I know Jennifer Griffin was interviewing an officer in the IDF, asking about his group and their opinions about what they were doing. Looking at it, they are being professional, but they disagree with what is going on.

Personally, I disagree with the actions in the Gaza.

Oh...I am too---I have been on/off this thread since it started..because I have found out more information here than on TV..

Today is the first time that I have seen FNC really spending a lot of time on it.

You mentioned on another post that the the withdrawal was stopped...what did you mean by that?

The withdrawl was suspended from a particular settlement (sorry, name escapes me at the moment) much to the relief of the residents, and the soldiers, but will resume at a later date.

I guess I need to do more research as to why Israel is capitulating to these thugs.
