Waco man allegedly drove pickup through "Camp Casey" memorial

AUGUST 16--Meet Larry Northern. The Texas man, 59, was arrested last night and charged with criminal mischief for allegedly driving his pickup truck over wooden crosses erected near the roadside campsite of Cindy Sheehan, the California woman who has brought her antiwar protest to President George W. Bush's Crawford doorstep. A row of the memorial crosses, which carry the names of U.S. soldiers killed during the Iraq war, were destroyed when Northern, a Waco resident, allegedly drove his truck (which was dragging a pipe and chains) over them. The crosses are part of an encampment Sheehan has dubbed "Camp Casey" in honor of her late son, a 24-year-old Army Specialist killed in action last year. Sheehan has said she will not budge from the road leading to the president's ranch until he meets with her to explain "why our sons are dead."

Still not the thing to do; that's more the thuggest kind of activity that the left is so well known for.

I agree, though it must have been really emotionally satisfying. They're so vicious to us, it's sometimes hard to resist the temptation to hit back.

How's this for unvarnished bias on this subject from: http://www.elitestv.com/pub/2005/Aug/EEN43023fc0328ad.html

"Thus far, Mr. Bush has refused to interrupt his vacation to meet with Ms. Sheehan although he has driven past her camp on the way to and from a recent multimillion dollar Republican fundraiser.

No bias there.

;-)

Actually, I think it would be fun to drive a 100 head of longhorns right down the middle of Prairie Chapel Rd. The flies, dust, and cow pies would given Cindy and her handlers a real taste of old Texas. But they'd probably insist on bringing in a hazmat unit to tidy up the mess.

I hear Larry always drags a pipe and chains.

This guy has no imagination, creativity or sense of historical context.

This is Texas after all !!!

He should've driven a herd of cattle through the area instead.

I'd rather have seen a group of soldiers laying wreaths in front of the crosses, then turning to her and saying, "We honor the sacrifice your son made. You should be proud of him", and then leaving without another word.

Thus far, Mr. Bush has refused to interrupt his vacation to meet with Ms. Sheehan although he has driven past her camp on the way to and from a recent multimillion dollar Republican fundraiser.

God, you gotta love the media. I'll wager that if the subject were someone like Teddy Kennedy, the part about going to the multimillion dollar DEMOCRATIC fundraiser would have been conveniently omitted.

Are these jackasses blocking the roadway? Camping on easement? Picking up their litter? Permission from property owners to be there? Assembly permit? Bathroom facilities? Garbage duty?

Who is watching over these logistics? This took some planning, it should be easy to find out who is behind all this.

I think what the guy did was AOK!

Given the mental state of and general prevalence of mind-altering pharmaceutical use among the people there, Charlie-boy probably thought the sticks of wood were his friends (and not representing dead people).

He should be an ATF employee. Consider the irony: Sheehan says she will not pay Federal taxes. Isn't that what the Davidians did also? The Sheehan group is congregating and causing disturbances, so did the Davidians. And its right next to Waco, so the FiBI's know how to get there to take care of business. Why doesn't Bush have her disbanded.
