"What percentage does he own?
Last I heard somewhat less than 1%."
How do you think he made all his money.
I liked the "Occupation: Royalty" part. Where do I send my resume?

There is no longer an AOL Time Warner (AOL)...it is now called Time Warner (TWX).
The article about the arab's purchase of $450,000,000 worth of AOL was from 2002. His average cost was $23 according to the article, TWX is now around $18, so if he still holds those shares they are worth around $355,000,000.
In any event, TWX's total capitalization is $84 Billion, so even if the arab had $1 billion worth he would only have a 1.2% share...hardly enough to dictate CNN's (only one of TWX's many outlets) political bias.
Finally, Time Warner Cable does not offer Al Jazeera...the only major American service that I know does is Dish Network...so if you have that dish...your subscription does aid the distribution of Al Jazeera.

Good summary - thanks! That helps to put it into perspective, but it still bothers me in principle...

I hope so. I love Itchy and Scratchy. They should have their own spin-off show.

"He owns more of FOX news than of CNN!"
That explains why Sean Hannity was wearing a turban the other night and Alan Colmes was wearing a burka.

Why would they be on board with a pro-abortion, pro-gay, anti-religion agenda?Assuming that it's true that the Saudis do own this big chunk of CNNAOLETC, maybe it's because they want to see the hated infidels aborted before they're born, and to engage in non-procreative relationships.

Goes to show that not all his investments are wise and productive. I think he helped kept Disney in Paris open just to bug the French.
