" The only sad thing is that the people who need most to listen to Rush never do. " .... well, some do.
Even Rush admitted that in his classic monologue the other day.
I am sure many liberals listen to his show, it's just a matter of time, and will, and the willingness to " SEE THE LIGHT " and see the error of their ways that they will change.

Are your lives so endless, baseless, and void of substance that the only pleasure you get from life is through watching the misery of others and trying to cause misery for others?

Yes.

Moron, if we got rid of oil tomorrow it would take 15 years to build the infrastructure for the next source of energy. No wonder you got banned, you have the mental capacity of a moth.

World War II was not won by Eisenhower. World War II was not won by FDR. World War II was not won by any particular leader. World War II was not won by Patton. Everybody played a role. But without the sons and daughters of the American people, this country wouldn't amount to anything. It is the people who make this country work, and the ease with which those of you on the left disparage the people in this country while you seek to focus all attention on government, is a sight to behold, and it is why you are losing elections; it is why you are losing favor; it is why you are becoming more fringe and extreme and kooky, because you've lost touch. You've lost contact. You've lost all ability to understand who it is that comprises the heart and soul of this country. You have no clue who the backbone of this country is; but I will tell you this: it's not Cindy Sheehan and it's not one member of her entourage in a ditch in Crawford, Texas. Those people are a bunch of squatters. Those people right now are contributing nothing to the greatness or future of this country. Neither are the members of the media who are down there trying to elevate all those people in the ditch to be superheroes. There's not one of them that comes anywhere near rating the title of hero. They are nothing but a bunch of squatters who are miserable and unhappy for who knows whatever reasons and deciding to take it out on people who they think have control over their lives. In this case, with a bunch of liberals, it's government. You want government to have control over your life, you want government to be able to do this and that for your friends and neighbors and help you, but the simple truth of this country is that it's the people who make this country work. It is the people who comprise the economy.

Well said.

" To be liberal you must put emotion above reason " .... you are right.

Emotions and " FEELINGS " can be deceptive and can lead you astray without any sound and reasoned logic.
In the garden of Eden , Eve was i.e duped, tricked, deceived, lied to, by the devil with his manipulation of Eve's " EMOTIONS " and " FEELINGS " because she was deceived to believe she was " CHEATED " " WITHHOLD FROM " something that was suppose to be better : the knowledge of GOOD & EVIL.
The devil deceived Eve to believe that God was not giving her something " BETTER " or that GOD didn't really love her, therefore, her emotions, feelings deceived her into believe that she was being " CHEATED " by GOD.
Has anyone ever experienced this before ? for example ?
You get news, or some kind of information, and that news, or information gets you all upset mad or angry at someone or something ( without getting ALL OF THE FACTS, not reasoning the matter out )
And you just let your emotions, and feelings get the best of you, and later , come to find out, the " NEWS " and " INFORMATION " was bogus, and you felt like a fool, or jackass to let your emotions fool you, deceive you ?
Emotions and feelings have their own place and time, but, when their is a critical decision to make, sound LOGIC and sound REASONING wins the day.

If this war is supposedly so valid, why do facts about the war have to be proven with generalizations?

Generalizations? We've heard the truths of success from the Iraqis, from the mouths of our courageous Soldiers and seen it proven in the massive growing list of scumbag Al Queda dead.

Or are you referring to generalizations like "War for oil", "Unjust War" and my personal favorite "BUSH'S FAULT!"?!?

The one major flaw in your comment? This is Earth...

If it acts like a troll, smells like a troll and posts like a troll...

Great post. Thank you. I've heard Rush only a few time, I've been living overseas for the most part of the last 13-14 years and it's not everyplace that I've been that has AFN. Armed Forces Network broadcasts his show regularly.

If this discourse is any indication of the level of quality that Rush has added to the voice of America, we are truly blessed.

I agree fully with Rush .. it can't and it ain't going to happen. I may be living abroad, but I excerice my rights. I vote, maintain a home and a residency in Wa., am a member of the NRA and GOA, maintain my concealed carry permit, and support all that's good in America. There are days that I'm afraid I'll be coming home to a revolution...that it will go that far. However, after reading this post, and many others like it by all you right minded people here on FR, I have hope that we still have the character left to regain America and effect change from within.

Freeper friends,
allow me to deviate from our usual topics and ping you on this. I suggest when you have the time, please watch and listen to Rush Limbaugh's monologue, "Whose Kids Are In Iraq? The Ones Who Make The Country Work".
Click on "Watch Rush Conduct Broadcast Excellance on the Dittocam" in the original posting. The video runs approximately 15 minutes.

You won't be disappointed!

Let's break this down into small simple segments so that you can digest properly.

***

Soldiers in Iraq aren't dying to protect our freedom.

It's so typical for the great unwashed to simply miss "The big picture". It's like an 8088 attempting to run a P4 program. Crash and burn as soon as the first bit of information comes along.

The WOT is directly related to our personal freedom. How? By defeating terror through destroying those who provide financing, safe harbor or encourage terror. How does this help OUR freedom? By eliminating a threat that would otherwise require us to turn into a police state in order to ensure the continued survival of mankind. Why is it that level of threat? Because certain failed states have researched a sufficient level of technology to potentially produce "doomsday" weapons and make said available on the open market for terrorists. Are you following along?

***

Oil companies are making record profits while Americans fill up their suv's, insuring that terrorists will be around for a long time.

Absolutely true. It's a free country and you cannot dictate the pricing of a commodity in demand below it's perceived market level. Why? 1) Because it can be sold at a higher price somewhere else, if not by the mfgr, then by capitalists who will speculate on the after market price. You would see sales of such go outside of the country where people would pay the higher value. 2) You cannot force an individual to produce said quantity if they know they cannot retrieve profits at the perceived market value. They will sit on supplies. You will have an even greater shortage if any supplies at all.

Remember when Clinton released oil reserves during the gas crunch at the end of his disasterous administration? Do you remember who bought it and where it went? The sale went to a speculator who then flipped the supply to a foreign distributor who paid a higher price than the American market. None of the gas even made it into the American supply lines. Simply brilliant, eh?

***

Bush holds hands with Saudi dictators, while U.S. soldiers have to do without proper equipment, getting killed as a result of our government's reluctance to back alternative means of energy.

It's been 25 years since Oil crisis created by the disastrous Carter administration and people STILL want big cars. That's where the demand is so that is what the smart market will produce. The government cannot compel a mfgr to produce goods that the market won't sell. REALIZATION: The government does not produce anything! It will not build the technology you are referring to. It will have to come from the private sector. If the government does anything, it will enable the private sector to receive subsidies to produce said technology. Who will likely produce it? Haliburton? You're guess is as good as mine, but either way, you'd probably complain about it, too.

***

Bush vacations for weeks on end, intent on living his life, while soldiers barely out of their teens come home paralyzed for the rest of their lives, lucky if they get their share of the govt. cheese. Are you including these brave men when you talk about social parasites?

Uhhh...you folks think the man is the devil and you want him BACK at the White House? OK.

besides, Bush has not been sitting around, he's been meeting with world leaders and achieving several different objectives all from his ranch. Can you name the prominent individual that Bush was in contact with the first week of his vacation? Can you name what was accomplished? It was all over the news, if you can't, then the rock you live under must be incredibly dark and slimy.

***

When did white become black for you? When will you snap out of your unconscious state and realize that the freedoms that we American's once took for granted have slowly disappeared?

Like the eminent domain ruling from 5 liberal justices? Heaven forbid we should ever permit another on the court. yes, we are quite aware of it, how 'bout you?

***

It seems that many people like you could care less about what our founding fathers believed in.

Well, if electing strict Constitutionalists to public office isn't enough to convince you, I think you're beyond help. I mean, what do rats have to offer other than pure Marxism?

***

And when we finally become a total police state, with our former freedoms a topic that we can only whisper to each other about, perhaps then you'll understand why so many people fear Bush and his corporate puppet masters.

This is the part where I decide that you are nuts, none of this is getting through and you are beyond reason and help.

***

Yes, I know I'm rambling, but I'm not sitting around waiting for a govt, check, nor do I know anyone who is. Mentally I'm as sound, perhaps more, than you. I only hope you wake up soon.

Glad I'm not subsidizing you. Have a nice day.

It's probably a school thing. Instead of having meaningful experiences that help to form his views, he's taken away from his natural environment and dropped off in a regimented institution to be incubated and drilled for years on end. Either that, or he's been through it already and hasn't gotten over it (yet?).

I agree with every word of your thoughtful message to Ringo.

The only thing I would add is that wars are fought with tactics and strategy. Strategically, taking the fight into Iraq makes perfect sense.

Ringo did make a "courteous response to the flames" and he bases that response on 21 years of life experience....he has time to change his mind. There are an awful lot of us who voted for Jimmy Carter & lived to regret it.

Thank you for posting your thoughts and questions and trying to elevate the level of discourse.

You've actually provoked some thoughtful and cogent answers, among all the flak.
