"Gustavo Alvarado, a Mexican immigrant whose three daughters attend Sadler, said the district should make an example of this teacher. "Our children have to be protected," said Alvarado, 37. "If we came to this country, we did it to work and so that our children would have better opportunities."

"Do you know how hard it was helping the little ones across the Rio Grande? I think I should at least get a free house out of this terrible situation."

This is what happens when you let liberals run the school system.

In any case, Puerto Ricans are American citizens. They are irrelevant to the debate over illegal immigration.

Pretty much.

It would like arguing to keep any group of American citizens out.

American citizens by birth can not be illegal immigrants especially when they are born, and living in an American territory.

She should ask them to please identify any factual errors in the letter.

I say we force Puerto Rico to either dump or get off the pot. If they want to be American citizens, then let their nation become the 51st state. Otherwise, to hell with 'em; they're on their own.

Wouldn't take much force.

There is a large movement there to be a state, and another large movement there for them to be a country.

Alot of them split the differance and wind up staying the way they are, if given a choice between a state and country, I think its a 50/50 shot (some of them "librules" actually prefer them to be a country....but not for good reasons or any practial or right reason).

That said, I don't think it should be up to them on becoming a state or a country, it should be up to us, or our legislatures to decide.

I'd vote or say "cut'em lose".

This doesn't quite make sense, the teacher claims that Puerto Rican teachers have only received the equivalent of a fifth grade eduacation, but they are teaching in the public school system?

I swiped the BarbedWire.gif from Smartass - resized down to 544x34 from 612x38

I checked the thread and did not see my post

It was delayed posting I guess

I am usually more careful and expect that - should have refreshed that page first to make sure

Not really. After the Roosevelt Roads Base closed we really don't have much use for it. They hate us but are perfectly willing to take our handouts.

Everything is permitted, but nothing is allowed.

That's profound on many levels, but I'd just like to keep flatlanders from Illinois from migrating to Wisconsin every summer.

Pharmaceutical companys enjoy the tax breaks in PR. Puerto Rico is fine as it is. If we made it a state they'd vote Democrat.

Hey Gustavo Alvarado, screw your whole criminal illegal family and your illegally imported diseases and social corruption.
Work in your own country so your children can have better opportunities.
Do not presume to claim a "right" for what I and my ancestors have built. You have no such right.
I owe a cowardly illegal border jumping theif like you nothing except disdain and outrage.

" Puerto Ricans are not the issue. It's Mexican illegals. "

Once you unleash the dogs you can't always control who they attack.

Ever hear of the Know Nothing Party?
