That's great!

I love the yellow ribbons, too.

Glad to see it! Also--remember no one from the ranch would receive Cindy's letter--looks like they were happy to send someone out to get these.

Tensions so high that comic relief in the form of sheets bound in yellow ribbons seem so appropriate...all with a message that might suggest that our President no longer cares about the brave troops he commands?
And if that's not it. What does it say?
About our support of our troops? About our unity back here at home while our loved ones are putting their lives on the line 24/7? About our loyalty to our flag and country? What does this type of display tell our enemy?

I can not speak for the people who sent the sheets- but it says to me- that there are all types of Americans who support the President and the the troops. I may find another way to show my support than these people did- but I welcome anyone getting into the game on our side.

It is time for the silent majority to be silent no more.

I don't recall any counter protests or counter rallies during Vietnam- and if there were any- of any type-ever...... well, *sigh*- anyone can fill in the blank......

There were no organized counter-protests that I recall.

My husband was at an anti-war demonstration at the University of Cincinnati around 1970. They had a time where they asked students to get up and talk, so he got up on the platform and started talking in support of our troops and America.

Well, they booed him and forced him off the stage. Leftists only believe in free speech for them, not for those of us who disagree with them.

UC was shut down because of the violence of 'peace' demonstrations.

The hippie anti-American freaks were in control then, but they're not any more..........and we're not going to let them get away with their leftist garbage now like we did then.

It is time for the silent majority to be silent no more.

It's time for a nationwide series of demonstrations.

There were no organized counter-protests that I recall.

I know there was a march in NYC that was countered by steelworkers. So many of the guys at the local had kids in Nam that they came out to protest the protesters.

There were also some support-the-troops rallies, some of which was headlined by Bob Hope, his only foray into anything remotely political. He would tell the crowd that unlike most of the protesters, he had been to Vietnam and seen that we were winning. And he was right...

The reason that there weren't counter-protests was that so many people had seen America go through three wars that century, with only one of them (WWII) popular, and they couldn't imagine that any significant number of Americans would turn their backs on troops engaged in battle. By the time they realized what was happening, it was just about too late.
