Well you make a good point. I don't know why Rush annoys me so much. Philosophically I am with him and I'm glad he's a voice for so many of us but I really can't listen to him anymore. I just outgrew him. Also, he's been divorced 3 times now and I just don't feel he's that great of a role model either. I appreciate the part he plays in the greater scheme of things.
As for commercials, I know what you mean about the cleaning and that's when I usually do my vacuuming and other loud things... then I dust and stuff when the program is on. It's a very nice way to make cleaning less painful.
What is "farding"? I don't find it in the dictionary.
Liken Rush( and the others) to Jim Robinson
It's his show.
Does your radio have an on\off button
or a station changer or a volume control?
You don't have to listen and you don't have
to read or post drivel on FR.
You said it! The amount of commericials on radio--and t.v.--has gotten so totally out of hand. It's disgusting anymore. At any given time that I sit down to watch a little t.v. and start running through all the channels I've programmed, it seems that 9 out of 10 times, I find commercials running on just about every one of them. It is so annoying and such a turn-off. The same goes for radio as well. And it's the same commercials over and over and over...a definite turn-off...and that's usually what I end of up doing--turning it off!
In all seriouness, imo, it can seem repetitive because we generally know the news beforehand. But most of the audience listening to talk or nightly broadcasts does not.
For analysis I generally listen to Rush. Yeah, I know the news before he gets to it 8 out of ten times but I know of no one better that can break it all down, adding some insight I may not have thought of and keep my attention while not depressing the hell out of my spirit to keep up the fight. Hannity depending on the guest lineup. But when I was new to conservatism I listened to hannity far more often than I do now. And back then I wasn't reading the net throughout the day and they were lifelines.
I think most of these hosts are wonderful though, with some exceptions. They serve an important role as the net does and reach different people because their styles and format are different but Rush is the only one I'll listen to on a daily basis.
Laura, Hannity, Tony, Levin, occasionally Medved I'll listen when I have a moment or special events or guests.
And another thing...those ANNOYING infomercials! Oh my goodness-gracious....are they NOT utterly annoying! And they are on just about every cable channel...all times of the day and night...what a waste!
Gee, evidently Freepers don't believe in free speach. Please send me a list of approved subjects.

Anything but Catholics is approved!!!
I listened to Tony on line until my dialup connection degraded to the point where it became impossible.
I'm moving next month and will be getting Wildblue's satellite ISP. I will be SO GLAD to hear Tony again! He's always great to listen to, and I hope he continues doing well in his fight against cancer.
I think you answered your question there.
I personally don't rate him as even an adequate political analyst. This is the area in which Rush shines.

He used to give warnings with a countdown. I had wife and kids with me so I turned it off....must admit some of those off color reports are very funny.
No, didn't know that. But do you have any idea where I can get a good steak? :)
I would certainly put Neal Boortz above most of the people on this list.
The whole point of conservative talk radio is missed in this article. Sure, some are better than others but we are getting analysis of the news with a conservative bias. After an hour or so of CNN in the morning I have all of the liberal media I can take.
"...talent on loan from God!"
CA....
Laura Ingraham too!
Right or wrong has nothing to do with it. They took the money from people who worked under the guise that they would give it back. People want their money. They would be in a whole better shape if they could have invested it in their accounts but our politicians won't let them.
As a tax payer I would rather just cut my losses and move on. In twenty years from now I would likely have about $600K in a private account that had been invested conservatively.
