They word it so it makes her look like SHE came back to shoot him... Not that she happened to walk in on him and startled she probably grabbed for her gun she has... But, instead she left to get the gun and "returned to confront him"....

I would imagine that the woman who shot the perp may be facing a civil lawsuit from the family (if he has one) of the little burglar. I can hear it now. His mother blubbering, "He was a good boy. He shouldn't have had to pay with his life for making a mistake. We miss him!".

She should have asked to sit down and wait while she called the police. The would have come in a half hour or so and taken the poor kids away in cuffs. If she had done that the kid would be back at home with his loving parents instead dead.
