Go with God, Basil and all FReepers and friends in Crawford in support of our troops, our Commander-in-Chief and our Constitution!

Tell Kristinn and Raoul we spanked some Code Pink heinies by 4-to-1 here in DC on Friday night! They're smartin'!

"I was under the impression that Texas allowed one to carry weapons in one's vehicle."

Before conceal/carry permits, we could carry a handgun in a car if meeting the following conditions:

  1. Traveling across at least 2 county lines.
  2. The handgun must be unloaded and in a locked trunk.
  3. The ammo must be in a locked glove box.

We could also carry an unloaded rifle or shotgun in a rack on the rear window of a pickup (again, with ammo locked in glove box).

I'm not sure what the current law is on possession of weapons if you don't have a permit.  It may still be the same, but you should check with DPS (Texas Department of Public Safety) to make sure.

Wish I could be there, but I gotta work. Hope y'all have fun and stay safe.

FReegards,
RT

I cannot make this wonderful rally for our troops, Presidenet Bush and the war against terrorism but my thoughts and prayers are with all of you wonderful Patriots. It is so heartening to experience the patriotism by such large numbers of Americans, unlike the Viet Nam era, when we were so outnumbered by MSM and lefties.

I just voted on this poll (results below). IMHO the question was ridiculous.
Instead of, "No, he's already said why we're at war"
What about: No, he's already met with her.

Poll:
Should the president meet with Cindy Sheehan?

Yes, she deserves an answer. 56.73% 5528
No, he's already said why we're at war. 43.27% 4217

I saw it this a.m. - think it was on during Fox & Friends, but it may have been during John Scott's show. I was a bit surprised as I'd not seen it on there before.

Ok, wait... some people will be there around 9AM, but what time does the rally actually start? My buddy and I have to set up our schedule, so we have to know what things look like as far as timing goes.

Oh, and it's going to be great to see everyone again!

Last minute notice. I have 2 spots in my car from Fort Worth to Crawford. I will drive to Fort Worth or Arlington to pick you up if you're close to the 820/30 interchange, or we can set up a time and place to meet. Send me a private message with a direct way to contact you if you need to set something up. All I ask is a couple dollars for gas. Also, we have to leave by 5pm, so be warned.

I will get up to check my messages over the next few hours, and if I still have the spots when I hear from you, I will contact you asap to let you know you have the spot. Obviously, if you don't hear back it's because we filled the spots and I'm asleep.

Cheers

Sorry I can't be there. It sounds like it will be an absolute blast. Unfortunately, the 27th is my birthday, and I have already promised my attendance at another function. Have fun ya'll....

Gonna do someting here that is pure vanity. I was a 20 year old grunt in Vietnam, walking point in a rifle company for well over 6 months. At home was a mother that suffered terribly in quiet dignity. I heard years later from one of my sisters that she would go in to the grocery store to buy things to send me and if a particular song came over the PA that she knew I liked, or if she saw some particular cereal or food item she had fed me as a little boy she would break down. At home, if she heard of any engagements by the 25th infantry that resulted in loss of life she would suffer terribly, wondering if she would see uniformed men come to the door in the next day or two. She had no particularly strong feelings about Vietnam one way or another. All she wanted was to see her son come home in one piece. It would never have crossed her mind to dishonor me by doing anything to bring me home early and safely. I would get packages full of goodies and things I didn't often need but cherised just the same. Her letters, full of details about home, kept my morale up. When I got home she had aged, but she never once told me of the suffering she (along with every Mom with a son in Vietnam) went through. It wasn't till I sat with her as she descended into Alzheimers many years later that my sisters shared her suffering with me.

So, when I see griefstricken mothers like Cindy Sheehan dishonoring their fallen son's for their own particular agenda it makes me grateful for my own mother, who will be with all of you in spirit as you go to Crawford to offer a counterpoint to the misguided Sheehan followers. You represent many of us.

So, when I see griefstricken mothers like Cindy Sheehan dishonoring their fallen son's I admit that this may very well be an opinion born of the fact that I have never served in the capacity that you have, but I do not believe that Cindy Sheehan is anywhere near capable of dishonoring her son. Nothing she can do will ever stain the honor in which he served. He was a hero, and she is a self serving (pardon my language) bitch. The two are mutually exclusive.

Words, not deeds. She stains herself with words, but Casey Sheehan was a man of deeds. He will be remembered as such, and nothing anyone can do will dishonor him now. He achieved the greatest glory a warrior can. He died with honor. Once that occurs, there is nothing to change that. Period.

Or maybe I have a very outdated view of such things.

Wow, What a great day you guys are going to have. I wish I could be there, but I'm going to Rancho Cucumundo (sp?) on Monday to try and cheer when W comes to town. He doesn't come often so I will have to be there to counter the evil ''ANSWER''idiots and the code pinkos who I know will be there to try and ruin the day. You guys have a great time and give em HELL for me!

Thanks for the e-mail addresses of Fox programs, I have sent the following e-mails to all of them. I hope it helps.

"As a big supporters of our troops, I would like see more coverage of the people who are gathering to support them in Crawford.

The opposite side has had nonstop coverage on your network and it's time for you live up to your slogan "Fair and Balanced"

No, you don't at all, and perhaps in my frustration I overstated the case. His ultimate sacrifice can never be taken away. I suppose I should have said, she has diminished it a little by turning him, whether he wished it or not, into the poster soldier of the anti-war movement. Thank you for clarifying it.
