"Minuteman" Jim Gilchrist is my prospective opponent for California's 48th District U.S. House Rep. special election. Does anyone know what his stance is on the Iraq War? I for one firmly support the President and our operations in Iraq. What is Gilchrist's position on the war?
Thank you, J. Scott Davis
Name one.
Pat Buchanan. Would you like me to name some more?
You have already stated your viotrolic hatred of Tancredo, so we know you will NOT support the 2006 Republican slate in Colorado , so why do you refuse to tell us which fringe third party wacko you will support?
The wackos he supports are called Democrats.
"What is your position on Illegal Immigration?"
Excellent comeback.
Wish I could see his response.
You and other PRO-ILLEGAL alien huggers call yourselves "Republicans" while you work endlessly to defeat a lifelong Republican Congressman from Colorado.
YOUR position on immigration is not anything close to where the REPUBLICAN Party had stood on that issue for the last 130 years.
There are several parties that share YOUR views on immigration, NONE of which (Libertarians, Greens, Socialists) are remotely Republican.
For instance: We condemn the U.S. government's policy of barring those refugees from our country and preventing Americans from assisting their passage to help them escape tyranny or improve their economic prospects
We hold that human rights should not be denied or abridged on the basis of nationality. Undocumented non-citizens should not be denied the fundamental freedom to labor and to move about unmolested. Furthermore, immigration must not be restricted for reasons of race, religion, political creed, age or sexual preference
. We condemn massive roundups of Hispanic Americans and others by the federal government in its hunt for individuals not possessing required government documents. We strongly oppose all measures that punish employers who hire undocumented workers. Such measures repress free enterprise, harass workers, and systematically discourage employers from hiring Hispanics.

You may not like it, but you and the other liberal illegal alien huggers on this forum have been outed.
When will you announce which NON-REPUBLICAN you support for Congress in Colorado's sixth district?
bayourod seems to have the need to categorize people and then slap a rather general label on them, just like he does with his silly "Antis" label. Based on his definition of what an "Anti" is, about 99% of Americans are "Antis". He also seems to have an overwhelming need to create strawman arguments. Today he has been asking everybody "Does Cindy (Sheehan) speak for you?". I find bayourod to be a neurotic controlling individual with obsessive-compulsive tendancies.
Colorado
U.S. Congressman -- Sixth District
PICK ONE
Thomas G. Tancredo (REPUBLICAN-CO)
Joanna L. Conti (DEMOCRAT-CO)
Jack J. Woehr (LIBERTARIAN-CO)
It's ironic that "loyal Republican" BayouRINO accuses everyone else of being a Buchananite. I never voted for Pat Buchanan in my life, but BayouRINO is already on record hoping for the defeat of a Republican incumbent.
Tough choice between Conti and Woehr, I'd say. Either one would gladly advance BayouRINO's single-issue agenda on immigration. Of course a vote for anyone but Tancredo would help Conti.
What a wouldn't give for a candid camera of "Republican" Bayourod having to vote on that ballot.
Wow. I've been gone for several hours.
The responses since are telling.
Methinks the Republican pro-illegals establishment is damned nervous.
Good...I want to see them sweating bullets...
You say Jim Gilchrist supported going into Afghanistan, but not Iraq. That's precisely Democratic liberal thinking. That liberal concept will not work in the highly conservative 48th District.
Amelia makes a very important point! I myself did whatever I could independently to support winners such as Ronald Reagan, George Bush, W., and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Name who you have won for? Bill Clinton? Howard Dean?
Gilchrist has a better chance to win as a liberal than I do seeking a Republican nomination in a conservative district?
Think again!! If I'm simply given equal media exposure and campaign commercials, I GUARANTEE THAT I WILL WIN!
Just curious- are you a veteran?

Jeff;
Regarding abortion, it's the woman's right to chose early on. She has many more issues to deal with than we men do.
Stop twisting the facts! The original thread is whether Jim Gilchrist is liberal or consevative. He oppposed going into Iraq which makes him liberal.
Incorrect! I am a candidate! I have until September 20 to file.

You say "Lots of conservatives opposed going into Iraq?" Name one!
You claim that you've worked for candidates who have won elections? Name one!
Doc; I'm a hardliner as well! I agree with Jim on the need to enforce illegal immigration, but he says little that I've heard about the terrorist element of illegal immigration. He opposed going into Iraq thus making him liberal.
I have firmly supported the Iraq War- before, during, and after. I supported the Vietnam War and especially the courageous troops who fought in it.
Our country needs to do more for it's returning veterans such as raising benefits to be compatible with the rise in medical inflation.

TBP;
A fence is ridiculous! Any half-wit trained terrorist could repel right over it. A group of men could easily dig under it! Hurricanes would destroy the fence on almost a yearly basis.
Opposing the invasion of Iraq is a liberal stance!
Saying you support the troops, but oppose the invasion is a liberal politician trying to buy votes. Senator Biden has the same opinion and he's liberal!

Yes, we need to work with and accept our non-Anglo fellow Americans.
Gilchrist is recognized more nationally while not so compatible with the very conservative 48th District. His oposition to the Iraq invasion is liberal.
He should be admired for his work on illegal immigration and service in the Vietnam War, but he's displaying liberal flip-flopping on the Iraq War.

And what would that be, exactly? Don't hold back.
Ahhhh- Pat Buchanan is in the Reform Party!
