Jim Gilchrist Stance On Iraq War?
(Enter Link Here) Congress: J. Scott Davis vs. Jim Gilchrist ^ | 26 AUGUST 2005 | J. Scott Davis

Posted on 08/26/2005 4:21:59 PM PDT by jscottdavis_for_48th_district

"Minuteman" Jim Gilchrist is my prospective opponent for California's 48th District U.S. House Rep. special election. Does anyone know what his stance is on the Iraq War? I for one firmly support the President and our operations in Iraq. What is Gilchrist's position on the war?

Thank you, J. Scott Davis

And still waiting for an answer from last night (unless I missed it and therefore I would apologize) as to any announced or potential political candidates on this thread, as to which of the THREE MAIN IMMIGRATION CONTROL PLANS before the US Congress (which candidates seek to become a member of), they are in support of.

Yes, there are many more issues than the Iraq War and illegal immigration. If you access my profile here, you view the many issues that I address.

Allow me to inform you that these are NOT for 4 year contracts. These U.S. House Rep. seats are for 2 year terms while this special election is only for the remaining portion of former Congressman Cox's term. The U.S. Senate seats are for 6 year terms. I'm happy to say that President Bush has just over 3 years remaing on his Presidential term.

Antis. I've only said it a thousand times. Where have you been?

Anti-Bush, anti-Republicans, anti-free trade, anti-business, anti-war in Iraq, anti-Walmart, anti-Catholic, anti-14TH Amendment, anti-personal freedom, anti-local government...............

Well, look who's talking.

"I am unaware!

Now we have a point of agreement.

There are many sources. Here is one.

Paradoxically, Mexico has more millionaires than Germany, yet half its population is supported by traditional low technology industry and agriculture.

http://chicagosociety.uchicago.edu/mexico/mexicofacts.html and another

Aired 12/16/04 On CNN

DOBBS: Tonight, an estimated 15 million illegal aliens live in this country, at least half of them from Mexico. Many are here because they chose to flee crushing poverty in Mexico. But, in point of fact, Mexico is one of the richest countries in Latin America, amongst -- the millionaires, billionaires and its wealth concentrated in the hands of very few.

CASEY WIAN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: They sneak across the border seeking jobs they can't find in Mexico. The question isn't why they come, it's why can't Mexico's economy support its own people.

Nearly half of Mexico's population lives in poverty. Ten percent are indigent, existing on a dollar a day. Yet the nation has vast wealth. Mexico has more "Forbes" billionaires, 11, than all but eight other nations. It has more billionaires than Saudi Arabia, Switzerland or Taiwan. It also has more than 85,000 millionaires.

GEORGE W. GRAYSON, COLLEGE OF WILLIAM & MARY: There is a small economic elite who live like maharajas, and there's a political elite that protects them. Our border provides an escape valve which really lets the Mexican political and economic elite off the hook in terms of providing opportunities for their own people.

WIAN (on camera): About 10 percent of Mexico's 105 million people live here in the United States. They're called national heroes by President Vicente Fox because this year they'll send home about $16 billion, more than any Mexican industry except oil.

(voice-over): The country sits on oil reserves worth about $400 billion, but Mexico's state-owned oil company, Pemex, doesn't have the investment funds to tap those reserves, and Mexico's Congress refuses to allow foreign investment in Pemex.

Mexico's outdated tax system is plagued by widespread tax evasion. It collects taxes at less than half the rate of the United States. As a result, Mexico's public-school and health-care systems suffer. CHRIS WOODRUFF, CENTER FOR U.S.-MEXICO STUDIES: We now realize -- and particularly in a world where capitalists are mobile -- that redistribution isn't going to work, and what people focus on now instead is allowing the poor to build assets.

BTW, your insistance that Jim Gilchrist is a "liberal" is curious. You support a womans right to abort in early pregnancy. Most here would consider that "liberal"

Does your apparent liberal view on abortion make you a liberal as well?

AIT, I have yet to receive straight answers or arguments from OBL posters here---diversion tactics, ad hominems, prevarications, smears: yes; good faith, straightforward arguments and facts: no.

Looks like this guy is a "put up job" to try to derail Gilchrist---and with it, any real hope of electoral pressure on our elected "representatives" to really do something about the immigration crisis.

I have never hired an illegal alien.

How do YOU know? Did you ask them? Oh yeah - you don't speak Spanish. Maybe they showed you a driver's license? "Well, it's a document, so that means they're not undocumented!" Duhhhhhh, THAT makes sense!

Or maybe you just mean that someone else does the hiring for you, so technically you don't hire them. Gettin' warmer?

That giant sucking sound you hear is 'rod and the DA enjoying their Cuban cee-gars. Yee-haw!'

The issues that you have chosen to address are not all the issues i wish to debate. So far, I am not going to award you the contract. Perhaps if you wish to continue then you may still have a chance at it, but as of now, I am not willing to hire you.

Have a good day.

Foremost, the fight on terrorism is our main priority.

It's financially very difficult to support the war on terror while we're also supporting 15? million illegal aliens. The existing immigration (including deportation) laws of the U.S. need to be enforced.

The taxpayers are being completely ignored by Washington, and there may not be as many incumbents elected this time around because of it.

I wish to serve the best interests of all Americans. Where might I research these 3 control plans for confronting illegal immigration so that I can provide you with an answer. Upfront, I'm going to tell you that I always consider Senator McCain's position.

Thank you for your information on Mexican millionaires, Pemex oil with no outside investment, and the fact that an enormous amount of Mexico's economics comes from money sent from illegal aliens residing in the U.S. These are issues that both the U.S. and Mexican government need to address. And I suggest that the Mexican government come ready "to give."

You ended with suggesting that being Pro-Choice is liberal. Allow me to inform you that my philosophy is nearly as identical to that of President Bush's. I don't find him to be liberal at all. Keep in mind that if we outlaw abortions, just as many abortions will be performed regardless in the black market and in Mexico. The medical hazards here are then enormous. Now, I don't see that to be so liberal.

Now, national defense is the number priority of our government. Abortion is far down the ladder. I supported our invasion into Iraq- that's conservative! Jim Gilchrist opposed the Iraqi invasion with the anti-war liberals which is very liberal. Thus, Gilchrist is a liberal trying to win the 48th District which is heavily conservative.

I will try to answer the long list of questions that you presented, but it would have been better if you ask just 22 or 3 at a time, as well as, clump them into specific subjects.

It makes sense to me with a system as complex as the Federal Reserve to have auditors auditing the system on a permament basis.

You listen to John McCain? And George Bush has proven his liberal tendencies.

You are no conservative.
