Jim Gilchrist Stance On Iraq War?
(Enter Link Here) Congress: J. Scott Davis vs. Jim Gilchrist ^ | 26 AUGUST 2005 | J. Scott Davis

Posted on 08/26/2005 4:21:59 PM PDT by jscottdavis_for_48th_district

"Minuteman" Jim Gilchrist is my prospective opponent for California's 48th District U.S. House Rep. special election. Does anyone know what his stance is on the Iraq War? I for one firmly support the President and our operations in Iraq. What is Gilchrist's position on the war?

Thank you, J. Scott Davis

Yes, the Iraq War is costly, but we have no choice. Remember 9/11? Thus, we need to be in Iraq and Afghanistan to jump in the face of terrorism.

I predict that after the 2006 elections, that the GOP will maintain the majority in both the House and Senate. The American people have rejected the left and I couldn't be happier. It's now time to implement "Operation Defeat Liberal Feinstein - 2006."

Mr. Gilchrist opposing the Iraq invasion is to liberal for the good people of the 48th District.

McCain is from the right- that's moderate conservative or conservative. Governor Shwarzenegger is moderate conservative. I'm moderate conservative. Moderate is a different term than liberal.

Jim Gilchrist opposed the invasion of Iraq when we needed American support for our troops. That's siding with Howard Dean and the liberal anti-war stance. That's liberal, left, or whatever we call it.

Jim Gilchrist is the founder and leader of the Minutemen. He is a longtime member of the American Independent Party and is running as their candidate.

The AIP has as one of its major positions the opposition to the war in Iraq. The Minutemen supporters complain about out troops being in Iraq guarding the borders over there instead of guarding the borders back here.

It sure looks to me as if Cindy Speaks For The Minuteman.

Pat Buchanan is the patriarch of the current anti-immigrant movement. Yesterday he released an article calling for the impeachment of President Bush in which he made this anti-war complaint:
"Where is Bush? All wrapped up in the issue of whether women in Najaf will have the same rights in divorce and custody cases as women in Nebraska. "

It looks to me like Cindy Speaks For The Buchanan anti-illegals movement.

People who call the Commander in Chief a traitor during time of war and belittle the accomplishments of our troops in defeating global terrorism and protecting us from attacks are in the Cindy Sheehan camp.

This is the same way the anti-Vietnam sentiment began building and soon even Nixon was running on an anti-war platform. The Bush-haters will use anything they can to undermine him. Illegal immigration was just the start, now its turning into an anti-Iraq war movement.

If those of you who identify yourself as members of the anti-illegal immigrant movement want to prove me wrong its very simple to do so. Just condemn in the strongest of term those who oppose the Iraq war such as Pat Buchanan and Jim Gilchrist; then strongly support our troops, the war in Iraq and their Commander in Chief.

So far not a single anti-immigrant has said one word in opposition to their anti-war leaders.

Another lie. At least you are consistent. I'm done with ya, Rod, there's no hope. You insult the posters of FR. 95% of whom voted for George Bush and supported him in this war, and 90% who don't agree with him or YOU on immigration.

Again, read my profile page. It's all laid out in simple language for people like you who can't understand why I, along with President Bush, the RNC, the Republican Congressional leadership, the U.S. Cabinet and the Republican Governors, the Nationsal Chasmber of Commerce, the National Association of Manufacturers and most conservatives support a guest worker program.

Vicente Fox, the National Action Party (PAN), the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), the Mexican Congress, La Raza, MALDEF, LULAC, MEChA, La Voz de Aztlan, and the International Socialist Organization support your position on illegal immigration.

Remember 9/11?

Of course I remember 9/11, and I support our troops wholeheartedly. I just don't agree with the reasons they were sent to Iraq.

One one of the biggest reasons I do not support President Bush's views anymore is the fact that after 9/11 he did absolutely NOTHING to secure our borders, all the while telling us that the terrorists were coming. Several million illegal aliens from everywhere have entered our country since then, without a peep from the Bush administration. All he would say is how wonderful diversity is so the cheap labor tsunami would continue, no matter who or what was among them.

He continues to send such a mixed-up message to many of us who believed in him that we no longer have faith that he is a conservative. Myself, I'll never vote for another open borders politician as long as I live, nor will I donate to the RNC.

Should FReepers take this to mean that you are admitting to being pro-illegal immigration? I've asked you this question several times. Why do you refuse to answer this question?

Does Vicente Fox speak for you? I've yet to hear you say one word in opposition to Fox's stand on Mexicans illegally entering the United States.

So far not a single anti-immigrant has said one word in opposition to their anti-war leaders.

I don't know of any FReepers who are opposed to legal immigration.

Outstanding post "bayourod!" Your post #203 could not have been better. The liberal left has no agenda aside from wanting to gain office. Kerry, Edwards, and Congress voted to send troops to Iraq in the first place. Is what makes me so furious is they simply turned on the Iraq invasion only as a way to sabotage President Bush and then attempt to take back the White House. Of course, the American people have rejected the left and the GOP maintains the majority in both the House and Senate.

Jim Gilchrist and his American Independence Party side with the Democratic stance and thus this will keep them from winning California's conservative dominated 48th District.

Yourself and Jim Gilchrist cannot oppose the invasion of Iraq while supporting the troops. That contradicts itself. The whole operation and the service by our courageous troops is to fight terrorism and keep it out of America. I have supported the Iraq War "before, during, and after." In addition, I'm a veteran myself.

George Bush did nothing after 9/11 you say? Hummmmmmmmmm- what is the Department of Homeland Security for? Have you heard of that? It is Bill Clinton who allowed the al Queda to gain momentum.

>> Buchanan got less than 1/2 of 1% of the vote. George Bush won. (Look the word up in the dictionary if you don't know what "won" means) Get over it. <<

Yeah Bayourod, we know what "won" means. For instance, REPUBLICAN Congressman Tom Tancredo WON last year. The open borders THIRD PARTY CANDIDATE who shares YOUR values got about 1% of the vote. YOU get over it. Here are the numbers, read 'em and weap:

Tancredo (R-CO) 212,778 votes, 60%
Conti (D-CO) 139,870 votes, 39%
Woehr (LP-CO) 3,857 votes, 1%

Still waiting for you to tell us WHICH candidate you support for Congress in Colorado's sixth district, Mr. loyal Republican.

Interesting how you said how cowardly not to ping someone on FR, but now that I am pinging you, you responce is to duck and run for cover rather than tell us which third party YOU are supporting.

Since Pat Buchanan only received one fourth of one percent of the vote the last time he ran for national office, supporters who associate themselves with Buchanan's own anti-illegal immigration movement are probably comprised of not much more than one fourth of one percent of all Americans who are opposed to illegal immigration. And yet, you continue to fixate on Pat "One Fourth of One Percent" Buchanan.

You won't get an answer because bayourod is as you correctly surmise a libertarian. Woehr was no doubt his candidate of choice. The strong support for Bush we see from him is based solely on the fact the two share the same open borders philosophy.

Bayourod's laundry list of "antis" conspicy members now includes an "anti-Catholic" agenda. This guy is probably too dumb to realize the dreaded "Buchanan/Tancredo" (one person is his mind) evil consists of two lifelong Catholics.

He's also on a rant about how the American Independent Party is part of the shadowy Buchanan/Tancredo "antis" coalition of doom, even though the American Independent Party was started by George Wallace (who 1968 "third party" entry into the race cost Pat Buchanan's candidate RICHARD NIXON the election), and the AIP is now a state affiliate of the CONSISTITON PARTY -- a direct rival when Buchanan hijacked the REFORM Party nomination in 2000.

Facts are like kypotonite to this guy. I havent' seen so many incoherent conspiracy rants since Michael Moore claimed the KKK and the NRA were founded together and Bush is buddies with bin Laden -- even though Moore ALSO says bin Laden was not responsible for 9/11.

What meds are these wackos on?

You made several excellent points in your post #213.

bayourod makes all kinds of accusations, often using the flimsiest "evidence" in order to make a convoluted connection between two people or two issues so that he can start painting with his very broad brush.

If I said that I liked baseball, bayourod would probably say something like "Pat Buchanan also likes baseball so that must mean you support Buchanan's position on the war in Iraq."

Blah blah blah. You have had a lot of questions asked of you lately, Swampy, and you haven't made any attempt to answer them. Meanwhile, you sit there and type out accusations of FR members that they're in cahoots with Stormfront. Coming from a racist such as yourself (see my profile page for some of your own classic quotes, in case you forgot writing them), that's pretty rich of you to demand anything from anyone here.

So far not a single anti-immigrant has said one word in opposition to their anti-war leaders.

Judging from this post, you seem to know plenty about "anti-immigrant" sentiment. So exactly what is it that you have against "Nigerians and half a dozen other types"? And who exactly ARE these "half a dozen other types"? Inquiring minds want to know!

Maybe if time allows, some of us will dig deeper into the archives and pull out more instant classics of yours. At the rate you post, you must have over 100,000 posts over the last five years. But you gotta admit, this one is pretty good! Someone had to make the effort to trawl back to your February 2005 posts, but the results speak for themselves! One only wonders what treasures are waiting to be found...

Yeah, the DHS, great buncha guys. Asa Hutchinson - have you heard of him? How about Tom Ridge, who left the DHS and got a position on the Board of Directors at Home Depot?

Clinton has been out of office for over four years, you don't need to waste your time blaming him anymore.

But hey, good luck with your campaign and all that.

Yes, Bill Clinton has been out of office for 4 years, but President Bush is still cleaning up the mess. Clinton failed to act as the al Queda terrorist organization gained momentum. Thus, the tragedy of 9/11. In addition, we must be in Iraq to continue the fight on terrorism. Any present weakness in our economy is the result of 9/11 especially to our airlines. Every issue that Democrats and the left blame Bush for is in fact Clinton's fault..... Plain and simple!

Jim Gilchrist and his American Independence Party have opposed the Iraq invasion and thus maintain a liberal stance on the issue.
