A THANK YOU TO FREE REPUBLIC - "You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy" Tour
Move America Forward ^ | 08/28/2005 | Melanie Morgan - Howard Kaloogian

Posted on 08/28/2005 2:30:59 PM PDT by Impeach98

Last night Melanie Morgan, Howard Kaloogian and a couple others (including myself) all had dinner in Dallas, Texas following the "You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy" Tour and rally in Crawford, Texas organized by Move America Forward and Free Republic.

Howard and Melanie wanted to figure out the best ways to thank Free Republic. They're thinking about sending out a letter, calling individual FReepers and a couple other steps since Free Republic once again played such a crucial role in fighting for the side of freedom, liberty, and support for our country's national security, values and heritage.

I suggested Howard and Mel do a post here at FR. Daunted by trying to figure out how to log in and make a post (with or without html) they instead asked if I could post something for them. So I told them to draft something up and email it to me and I'd get it up.

I'm sitting here at a Starbucks en route back to Sacramento aboard the motorhome we drove Deborah Johns in (along the caravan route). And in checking my email I found the following....

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Message to Free Republic Members,

Once again you have proven yourselves to be the most reliable foot soldiers in the conservative movement.

No matter where or when, no matter how daunting the challenge, we know we can count on Free Republic members to be at the ready to do what it takes to fight for the cause of freedom and liberty.

Your commitment to activism begins at the top of your network and extends to all members. We were so delighted to have Free Republic's founder, Jim Robinson and his wife, make the trek from Fresno down to Crawford with us.

Your members spread the word of the "You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy" Tour to friends, family members and co-workers. You called the news media on our behalf to insist that they cover our activities. You came out to greet us and cheer us on - even when we were running hours late, and despite the fact that often we gave you little advance notice of our arrival into town.

And so many Free Republic Members came out to join the caravan and the giant pro-troop rally in Crawford, Texas on Saturday.

There is a special thanks to the crew that was in Crawford in advance of the event -- doing the hard work of getting our site ready, helping with the program, providing food and beverage, and all the other great amenities that are too numerous to mention here.

It is no exaggeration to say that we could never have achieved the success we had on this trip without your direct participation, assistance and leadership. Our troops serving in the U.S. military and their families have once again been well served by your commitment to the principles that unite your membership.

Please accept this email as just one of many ways we wish to express our deepest appreciation for your help and admiration for your solid adherence to your beliefs. May you continue to speak out, take action and help move America forward without hesitation into the future.

Sincerely yours,

Melanie Morgan & Howard Kaloogian

Sorry I did not make it. For our anniversary, at midnight on Friday, our daughter gave us a corner suite at the Marriott Riverwalk (San Antonio) as a surprise. We were checking out the next morning about the same time all of you rendezvous'd.

SOUNDS LIKE ALL OF YOU MADE EACH AND EVERY FREEPER PROUD! WOOHOO!

She'll either return to drink or try to suicide. Since last she looked she's lost not only her husband...but it seems her children too (I believe she has two other children but I'm prepared to be corrected). They apparently can't get through and face it. If that picture of her at the 'wedding' (Camp Casey has offically 'jumped the shark') is anything to go by, she's having too good a time. She leaves on Wednesday and there won't be as many people pandering to her on the bus 'cause you know what travelling by bus is like. It's everyone for himself or herself and quarters are tight, sticky and stinky. By the time she gets to Washington she'll be right crabby (I'm hopin'). On a serious note...she seems to feel hard done by by a LOT of people...some more unlikely than others. OK she's mad at the President. But she's also angry at NPR and some other organization that you'd think would be her ally. But if you don't do it the way Cindy wants it done...then you aren't paying her enough respect or being fair to her. Is that a 'persecution complex'? Whatever...she's got it. Charles Johnson at LGF published a letter she wrote long before Casey was killed. It's on their website in a thread so I won't borrow it except to put their link here. The point is she's had this complex or whatever it is since before Casey died and she even had a beef with Ted Koppel of Nightline. Apparently she turned up on his show and when picked from the audience, went on a tangent at which point Koppel called her "emotional" (which it sounds like she was). In this letter Charles published she called Koppel unfair to her because he called her that and went on to another member of the audience. Cindy is 'SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED! Here's a link to the story at LGF posted by 'hepcat': http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=17275#c0015

My wife and I spent our first honeymoon night in that Marriott before flying out the next day.

Congratulations!

Really?! Cool! They had us in Room 1906, which has a humongous corner balcony that wraps around the side of the hotel! The brunch was great too, with mimosas and everything...wish you'd been with us!

How did you do with the caravan?

"Honest psychologists around the Country are cringing now because they really understand that what Cindy has is a mental illness and the media is feeding into it"

A sobering point. But the Left never counts the personal cost it exacts. They do damage to conservatives, but this is far overshadowed by the damage done to people on the Left. It is a movement that eats its young.

Well said. I'm grateful for the Internet so we can circumvemt the MSM and their traps and share our intelligence and information with each other. Without it we'd be at their mercy.

I'm off for a few hours now. Have to shop for the beast (red meat!). Later. Keep the baby, Faith!

I'm just glad FR and LGF exist."

Wholeheartedly agree on FR. Hate to sound stupid, but what is LGF?

Just imagine what it did for those of us there on site!

Oh, I can only imagine, and truly wish I could have been there! admitting envy

If this goes on much longer, or into another venue, I'm going to have to join in somehow. Thanks to you and all who participated and showed up in force.

"...the MC said "The Caravan has arrived" and the driver of the Big Rig,(who is FReeper I believe, but whose handle I don't know) blew that big old air horn."

woooo-hooo! what a blast that must have been!

I heard there were 95 or so cars in the caravan, but I drove straight in to help setup anything that was left(and because I promised my son that we could stop by Burger King in McGregor on the way in).

As a Vietnam vet with 2 sons who are now Iraqi Freedom vets I would like to thank all the people who took the time to organize the event. We were there yesterday (saturday) and were overwhelmed with the enthusiasm and numbers of people to came, despite the Texas HEAT

My nephew's going to Afghanistan to help train policemen. He'll go knowing lots of Americans are behind the war effort. I'm so proud of all of you who stood up against the forces that would demoralize our people in Iraq and Afghanistan. Hats off to all of you -- Texas heat and all. And yeah, those of us who couldn't be there, were with you in spirit. Thanks again.

I think it's a great idea. Hey, does Free Republic have a store? I'm looking for a place where I can get a button and bumper sticker with the following: A flag waving at the top of the message: FREEDOM ... ensured daily - courtesy of our TROOPS!

I couldn't make it to Crawford either.

We really enjoyed meeting the Caravan in Fresno and giving Jim and Sheila a nice send off.

I don't know when they will be home but I'm sure they will be here in time for the picnic. :)

Thank you for standing up for what most of us Americans think. We support our troops 100% and the legacy of those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Thank you,

We missed you! But I'm glad you had a wonderful anniversary! Isn't it wonderful when your kids do something neat for you like that?

The rally was great! We had a wonderful - moving time really. My son and I only stayed for the rally - we had to get home. I wished I'd planned better and had gotten a room in Waco. Up until the night before we left we thought my husband was going - and he HAD to be at church Sunday morning - as the back up piano player already had plans to be gone Sunday. Oh well...

The rally really was pretty huge - but it was so very hot! Lots and lots of water was consumed.. laugh. I didn't even get to meet Jim Robinson.. :( But my son did.. so that alone was worth the trip!
