Someone was complaining about the recipes on the last thread, but us folks that have loved ones in the path need a little sidebar once in a while to relieve the pressure. That's the truth! I'm really worried about mine. Left NOLA at noon and headed towards family in Birmingham.

LOL! I thought of that AFTER I posted it. It wasn't directed at you, I just forgot to change it to all.

< Things have gotton a wee bit out of control, so, I'm her for awhile. >

Yeah...what's up with that? You had to post a little warning earlier today, but this evening has just been awful.

How are the Hershey's Kisses doing? Have they been discovered yet?

Tornado warnings issued all over N.O.

Chalmette among them. Batten down the Beauregard House!

This Phoenician has been transfixed all day, too, to the detriment of his other interests.

Prayers for those in the path of the storm!

Unreliable wind data though, as pressure is listed as 908mb. 122 kts would be about 140mph, and that is too low for that pressure.

I highly doubt that would see something like that. Galveston hurricane of 1900 would be more appropriate over 9/11, though.

Exactly. It's called taking your mind off the problems, even if for only a short time. It helps break the tension and if it gives you just a moment's fun, then it's worth it. God bless your family and keep them safe. SVITW

"what an "eyewall replacement cycle" was"

Imagine the vortex of water going down the drain. It has a fast circular flow with an open center. If you stick your hand in the water near, but not too close to the vortex, you create sheer. You're slowing the outer flow and that will cause the flow around the vortex to become unstable. It will wobble. The new stable point it comes to is the new "wall". It's a different slope and rotational speed.

The same happens when the 'cane nears land. The land casuses the shear.

I didn't sleep well last night, and I am soooooo tired tonight, but I suspect I will knock it back with coffee and watch.

I have the same plan... if I can tear myself away long enough to make coffee.

:-)
