I think we have been hyped. Where is this 160 mph everyone is talking about?
I have to admit that those posts of 100,000 dead and a virtual doomsday were over the top and never realistic, but this is still a monster, make no mistake.

Stay safe, stay inside, batten all down the hatches and hang in there.

Bastardi's last prediction that I saw was that the bad times for NO is between 9 am and 3 pm today...but that was before this recent change in the stom.

for sure. however, both things will happen - celebration, and kvetching. and I think that both are legitimate.
Mississippi is going to get the worst of it.

Fox reporting that emergency services (police, medic) will not be going out when the winds are high, so people are on their own.
Just told my daughter, when the excrement hits the fan, you're on your own, which is a good reason to know advanced first aid and to be well armed and trained
To: oceanview
I've observed Bastardi, and tho people here like him, I think he's abit over the top most of the time..(ducking for cover now)..

Perhaps when this is all over you should re-read the tale of the boy who cried wolf.

Bastardi painted the worst case scenario with the eye moving to the east of NO, which is where its going. But you are correct, he predicted the flooding would come laster in the day from teh north to south winds against the lake.
To: justa-hairyape
Now that air conditioning is off, they could get rain and lighting inside the astro dome. LOL that would freak them out. It was an Art Bell caller though.
To: newzjunkey
The wolf did arrive in the end.
