Does anybody know yet why it is getting worse long after the storm has passed?
ALSO, are the oil rigs that are adrift in the Gulf causing any oil to spill?
To: WxMan2000
I saw the looters, caught on camera, which is all the "fair trial" they deserve. Put a bullet in their heads....

Anybody hearing any reports out of Bay St. Louis, MS please post or Freepmail me. They took the worst hit. They took a much worse hit than Harrison County which is next to them and has already reported 80 dead. I have a lot of friends there and can not make contact. I lived there for two years. Thanks.

I'm against looting. But, after seeing film of one man walking through chest high water with a huge package of disposable diapers and a bag of groceries...I just cannot morally label him a looter.
To: NYleatherneck
No, I think they were too busy blaming the riots on lack of social spending, racism, etc.
To: MizSterious
Remember it well. I was screaming at the TV saying the
wrost will be after the wind dies down, and the flooding begins.
To: NYleatherneck
Either or really, but I think this came from the Governor

The Fox website had the headline just a few minutes ago that martial law was declared, and now it's removed from the site. Could somebody have jumped the gun?

Isn't the water coming in from Lake Pontchartrain? Is the lake fed by rising rivers, or is it totally a man-made lake with no inlets?
To: Acts 2:38; SunnySide; mhking
Anyone who would take advantage of a disaster like this to further their criminal aims truly is evil and deserves extra punsihment. Sunnyside has no problem with it, as long as it's "justifiable."

They need to. People always try to take advantage of situations like this. Plus, there are some people who no longer have food or potable water. These individuals have higher priorities right now than upholding the law.

New Orleans is my favorite city. We were there a few months ago and stayed at the Maison de Ville in the French Quarter, my favorite hotel. It was a house built in about 1820. We were planning to go back in 3 weeks. I guess we won't be.

He just said if you're caught outside, you'll get arrested!!!If it means being taken to a dry jail cell with electricity, food, fresh water, and AC, then IMHO, that's a pretty tempting offer.
To: Rebelbase
yeah that mayor is a joke, he should be impeached for gross negligence.

I would assume that it's because the constant and unusual pressure on the dikes that protect the cuty is finally taking its toll, and they are now failing.
I have no info on the oil rigs.
To: Labyrinthos
Oh, puhleeeeze.
The National Guard and FEMA are distributing food and supplies and people can be easily reached by emergency workers.
Are you actually saying that thugs are able to run around robbing stores and homes, while the same streets they are running around in are somehow magically impassable to cops, EMTs and FEMA workers?
Looters should be shot on sight, period.
Responsible citizens are receiving aid from the proper authorities.

I wonder why the water is rising, it couldn't have anything to do with being in a river delta, where all the rain that just got dumped to the north is draining towards. Nope, that couldn't be the cause. Must be global warming, or the war in Iraq.

Fascinating stuff. Note the msm take, "locals take necessary clothing", wonder if they left the money to pay in the cash register, somehow I think not.
