Hi dutchess. My labor day weekend won't be too exciting. I've just been studying. Today was spent in the library looking up articles. LOL! I'm still just teaching one class while I'm working on my degree. Hopefully next year, I'll finish and start working full time, but we will have to see what happens.

Way back when when I attending college the drinking age was 18. I bartended at a local tavern that was the "townie" lunch place at day and college bar at night. My degree was in theater and communications (which trains you for NOTHING).

Desperately trying to find a job upon graduation as new hubby was going to graduate school fulltime, I applied for a job with the state as a rehabilitation counselor. During the interview when asked why I might be qualified, I said, I bartended for 4 years through school which would qualify ANYONE to be counselor. Guess what? I got the job LOL! (of course that was 30 years ago when there weren't all the licensing requirements and degree requirements) Anyway, have been in some type of social work activity ever since.

Protect and guide our Military that are now being called to duty, strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. For millions of Americans, Alfred Eisenstaedt's 1945 LIFE photograph of a sailor stamping a masterly kiss on a nurse symbolized the cathartic joy of V-J Day. After a celebrated five-decade career, Eisie now 81, (actually 96 in 1995) calls V-J Day, Times Square his most memorable photograph.

Snugs...Your job sounds fascinating. And good for you working up the "ranks"> thanks for posting your work place pix. It looks very much like the barracks I was in during my time in the military OCS. and that triggered an "oh, no!!!)

You know I re-read my "job" history & realize that i left out my TWO favorite "jobs" ... and that is prolly because I enjoy(ed) them so much that it didn't seem like WORK.

Out of college I was in the Navy. I should have stayed in for a career... It was a wonderful experience & I spent it all in Newport, RI (COLD winters). Most recently at my mom's home I have done beaded Jewelry design..Esp therapeutic and I was even able to make more money than I spent! .

Well, have a great PM.. will check in with some Katrina updates tonight. AND.. I saw a pix of GWB on the gulf & SAW "MY" Secret Service Guy..well, he doesn't know he is my guy..but he is. Had a couple chats with him during the election/campaign.

Used to be a prospector for mineral, thanks to the *%$@&* greenies, I changed careers to remain working in America. I've been in the electrical industry since 1978, starting with the Navy. What I love about my profession is that it is continuously changing, and is never repetitive from one job to the next!
