Wish I could give her (your doggie) a hug--
I just saw video of two doggies on a porch of a house surrounded by water--at least one of the dogs was heavily chained to a post--he couldn't help himself if he wanted to.
I sure hope help is on the way--at least the video indicates that someone knows they are there.
Thanks for your post. I hope that the new addition to your family gets better. I suspect that she will; you seem to be "good folks" who know how to best treat an animal.
Did everyone just see them dragging that poor 15 year old dog Dusty? What is wrong with people?? They rescued the woman and her old dog...he was pooped and couldn't walk anymore and they DRAGGED him!!
Being an animal is luck of the draw, I reckon. There are the ones like my dog and cats who live in pure animal luxury and then there are the poor unlucky ones who get abused. Makes me sick
That is terrible but at least they brought the dog along and didn't just leave it there.
Makes me sick too but here's something that proves there *are* still people with hearts left;

That preacher is definitely a man of God....:)
She has lots of good days with the occasional bad day.
I don't know what provokes the bad days...maybe dogs can have "flashbacks", too.
We've pretty much figured out what most of her "panic triggers" are and have tried to minimize her fear of particular objects/situations.
She's a *lot* better than when she first came here but she still expects us to punish her for her "freak outs".
The poor thing always acts so befuddled when the beating she's expecting doesn't happen and she gets hugged instead.
I hope for the day when she completely forgets that beatings even exist.
If being loved is enough of a cure, she'll have plenty of that...:)
I'm so glad to know that I am not the only one who brings my pets back souvenirs from vacation. ;-)
I gave her one for ya....:)
I hope help is coming for them, too.
[geeze...if they can photograph something suffering why can't they stop and *help* it??]
LOL!
My living room floor looks like a PetSmart...and of course, there has to be 4 of everything....;)
Same here.
Buy the dogs an $11 liver-flavored NylaBone and they play with the cardboard from the wrapper until it's in tatters and *then* they play with the bone.
Paper towel shredding is the #1 'fun thing to do' in this house.
[messy slobs]...;))
I've had a cat that got that way after she freaked out over a veterinarian's attempt to shave a spot on her neck for a blood test. For a few years she couldn't bear the sight of my own electric shaver. Curled cord or sound of buzz = freaked out, snarling, ready to fight cat. She also acted that way in response to a metronome's clicking. Cat finally calmed down about 6 years later.
Our cats love that, too! LOL!! I guess cats and dogs can agree on some things, after all. ;-)
Aaugh!
I sure hope Pookie doesn't wait -6 years- to settle down...*I* will be the basket case by then.....LOL!
LOL!!
What a beautiful "baby", glad she is in a happy place now, I have no respect for people who beat on animals just because they can....
Wow, my dog loves to shred papertowels, what's up with that? She just lvoes it!
Did you ever find out why they even bought her and why they beat her? I woudl be so mad!!!! I can't stand people like that!
