Mary Landrieu: I'll Punch Bush, 'Literally'
NewsMax.com ^ | Sept. 4, 2005 | Carl Limbacher

Sen. Mary Landrieu threatened the president of the United States with physical violence on Sunday, saying that if he or any other government official criticizes New Orleans police for failing to keep civil order in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina - "I might likely have to punch him - literally."

"If one person criticizes [our sheriffs], or says one more thing, including the president of the United States, he will hear from me - one more word about it after this show airs and I - I might likely have to punch him - literally," Landrieu railed on "ABC's "This Week."

It is illegal to threaten the president with physical violence.

The Louisiana Democrat blasted Bush for neglecting the New Orleans levees, and demanded that he stop using the disaster for "photo-ops."

"The president came here yesterday for a photo-op," Landrieu charged, while surveying the disaster scene via helicopter with "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos in tow. "He got his photo-op but we are never going to get this fixed if he does not send us help now."

Landrieu also blamed Bush for cutting funding for levee improvement, before bursting into tears on camera.

In recent days, Louisiana officials have been criticized for bungling evacuation and rescue efforts. One of those officials, Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, is Sen. Landrieu's brother.

I think Mary Landrieu is a tough bitch. You won't see her cry. I bet she's won every brawl she's been in, she looks pretty tough to me.

I cant believe the lengths the MSM and their co-conspirators have gone in the blame game..

Yeah, I didn't think those lowlifes could ever surprise me again. But this is so over-the-top that even I am shocked. They are VERY BAD people.

I think FReepers must now wear the appropriate attire, boxing gloves.

...with a cool FReeper design, of course!

Since we have the Pajama Patrol with a badge, maybe we can have a Boxing Brigade with some awesome gloves.

Or at least a patch, or a cool beret!

Amen. They don't care. They think they can "fix" it once they get in power.

God help us all.

If they do manage to get rid of Bush, Cheney becomes President.

Cheney will not pull political punches, and it will be the end of the Democrats as a political party.

Prayers for ALL!

I don't doubt the hag is upset over the loss. But those tears are about politcs. She's scared because Democrats failed: the RAT Mayor, the RAT Governor, the RAT Senator (that would be herself), etc.

The amazing disconnect and lack of civic education of Dem constituents is astounding.

This poor traumatized individual was able to reel off the names of every government welfare agency in quick succession. He then shed a few tears for the benefit of the Fox newsie, who was somewhat taken aback by the tirade.

I'm sure the people of Houston and the thousands of unpaid volunteers will be happy to know that all their efforts are so profoundly appreciated.

Call me a pessimist, but I fear there will be riots at the Astrodome if they don't disperse these people quickly, and it doesn't look like they will be able to do that.

If we thought the 9/11 "Jersey Girls" were bad news, hold on to your hats; the Dems see the perfect storm to promote the futherance of the welfare state, and with the full cooperation of the media, and an uninformed general population, it's full steam ahead.

I'm sorry, but after 9/11, the template for "How to behave as the mayor of a major American city after a disaster." is well established. You've got to be pretty pathetic not to be able to figure it out.

The Local Leaders (I hate to call them that) but they are the duly elected officials responsible for protecting the public.

They should have made plans, and rehearsed them to determine if they would be adequate. Continual assessments should be made to determine at what point you ask for help (what, where, how much, when, under who's control etc).

From what I am hearing by the p*ss and moaning going on by the mayor, governor and senator of LA they feel themselves totally blameless.

I would fire each of them publicly and now. If it takes martial law to get things moving forward -- I say do it.

Whining Politicians are worthless crap in a crisis. And the MSM only fuels the fires.

Right. I have noticed that Louisianians love it, just love it, when someone threatens to punch out anyone.

I think Louisianians are all drama queens. And I live here. They love public fights and punch outs.

Has a sitting President ever ordered the evacuation of a state or a city? Does he have the authority to do so?

And she was whirly-birding around with Stephanopoulos...why? Certainly not for a PHOTO OP!! Hee-hee, you just gotta love the hypocrisy!
