Sen. Mary Landrieu threatened the president of the United States with physical violence on Sunday, saying that if he or any other government official criticizes New Orleans police for failing to keep civil order in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina - "I might likely have to punch him - literally."
"If one person criticizes [our sheriffs], or says one more thing, including the president of the United States, he will hear from me - one more word about it after this show airs and I - I might likely have to punch him - literally," Landrieu railed on "ABC's "This Week."
It is illegal to threaten the president with physical violence.
The Louisiana Democrat blasted Bush for neglecting the New Orleans levees, and demanded that he stop using the disaster for "photo-ops."
"The president came here yesterday for a photo-op," Landrieu charged, while surveying the disaster scene via helicopter with "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos in tow. "He got his photo-op but we are never going to get this fixed if he does not send us help now."
Landrieu also blamed Bush for cutting funding for levee improvement, before bursting into tears on camera.
In recent days, Louisiana officials have been criticized for bungling evacuation and rescue efforts. One of those officials, Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, is Sen. Landrieu's brother.

Stop blaming the President lady. You know who is responsible. You, your Governor and your Mayor. This has been a problem long before GWB took office. How come you and yours in Louisiana didn't address this problem years ago? Huh? Why not talk to clintin about it? He had 8 years (count 'em, mareee) 8 years to do something about the levees if they were so bad. He did nothing. Just like the rest of your officials in Louisiana including YOU.
Now, to the most important part. You just proved how dem/lib/lefties are so hateful in reality. You just said you would have to "punch" our President of the United States. Resorting to viloence when you don't get what you want?
How about if we all "punched" everyone who bashed our President all the time? No little mareeee, YOU, your Governor and your Mayor are all at fault. You won't be punching anyone either by the way. If you did...you would most certainly regret your actions. Oh and would you punch him when you were alone or would you do it in front of the world? I wonder.
Better not do it though in front of Laura, Jenna, Barbara and, Dorie,Barbara Sr. and the rest of the Bush family. You might want to rethink your "violent" reaction, huh mareeeee? Oh yeah, you will rethink it because all you dem/lib/lefties are nothing but TALK and no SUBSTANCE. I forgot.

Lord help us, the Republican senator from LA, David Vittner, has already spoken and the dimwit said that the government response deserved a failing grade. He's been in Baton Rouge with the Dimocrats too long and he up and forgot who his constituents are. He's in for a short LA political career.
Just momentary anger from a politician who just saw most of her voting base move to another state.

Pres is coming back on Monday. I want him on a podium with Squeaky Frome and I want him to criticize the NOPD and the locals.
Then I want him to turn to Mary, tell the SS to stand down and say "Miss Mary, have you got something to say or do?"

Landreau is just doing what all big government, leftist thugs do: Have no ideas or forethought, blame someone else for THEIR failings, and threaten violence when they don't get their way.

Exactly. Landreau is "demanding an audience" just like Sheehan did, demanding the President speak to her. All they want is the PR and photo-ops.

If he does, she had better take full advantage of the opportunity to redeem herself by apologizing fully and without reservation. If she were wise, she might consider announcing that President Bush's mature response to her emotional fit has caused her to see the light and she is switching to the Republican Party, now that she's decided she wants to be an adult.
I know. I have an active fantasy life.
AND just as culpable as her brother, the Lt. Gov, who did nothing either.
