We veterans of the 2004 campaign can hardly imagine the American political left sinking lower than it did then: the fake memo, Michael Moore's celluloid sandwich board, George Soros, "Bush is Hitler," Bruce Springsteen. And yet, as its reaction to Hurricane Katrina makes plain, the left is perfectly willing to sink a lot deeper.

All you need is hate
(la la, la-la-la)
All you need is hate
(la la, la-la-la)
All you need is hate, mon,
All you need is hate.
Can't get that stupid jingle outa my head.
Lower down than prehistoric whale shit in a New Jersey Swamp.
I'll trade you for a few hours. I can't get "Cindy in the ditch" (Judy in the sky) out of my mind.
Lower, still, than all of these: the concerted (and unconscionable) sliming of the gallant, selfless Swift Boat patriots, who willingly stood steadfast against the most hateful slanders and vituperations in their gallant -- and, thankfully, successful -- efforts to bring the awful truth about John Effin' Kerry to the American electorate... before it was too late.
Wasn't that composed by Lenin? ; )
All you need is hate....

Where's rather with that memo from 1972 Re: Katrina? Darn it, he's late.
The NYT wins. In case of disaster in your area do absolutely nothing to save lives, protect property or relieve suffering. Your new assignment is to blame Bush, blame Bush and blame Bush. Got that? Good, together we will build a better America.
A Frontpagemagazine.com pundit audited left & right web sites during the 2004 election and found that the word "hate" was used by lefties five times more often than by righties.
The SPLC, now nothing more than a radical gay lobby PAC, is the world's all-time champion in using the word "hate", which in thye late 90's, appeared on their web site more than 200 times.
I'll trade you for a few hours. I can't get "Cindy in the ditch" (Judy in the sky) out of my mind.
This will cure you both: Think of the song the Scarecrow sings in Wizzard of Oz...
Meant to point out how stupid the MSM arguments are.
Blame the French for constructing a city in a hole by the ocean and you are insensitive.
New Orleans was founded in 1718 on a site already used by hunters and fur trappers because it was one of the few spots of high ground which was above the annual Mississippi River floods.
Think about it for just a sec. In the days before the levees, anything below sea level would have been perpetually underwater or marsh. The city didn't begin below sea level, it became that way because of the levees preventing the silt buildups brought to the areas by the floods, especially the marshlands to the south, and because of the taking of ground water from wells which cause the ground level to subside. Over time it ended up below sea level.
No doubt what you say is true, but we need to leave out the politics, blame, and armchair quarterbacking alone for a little while still though.
I did not write the article or comment about it.
