Let's pretend Jeb were governor of Louisiana instead of a Democrat woman school teacher. I'll submit the first headline...this one from the N.Y. Slimes:
BUSH IGNORES HURRICANE WARNING; THOUSANDS FEARED DEAD
Evacuation Plan Ignored
TOPICS: Political Humor/Cartoons; US: Florida; US: Louisiana; Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: bias; blanco; bush; cary; deceit; hurricane; katrina; mediabias; whatif

Reid and Dims just gave news conference. They are trying to bad mouth the Administrations funding plan for N.O. They said they have a better plan. They want to bypass FEMA. A reporter asked that based on the amount of funding wouldn't a new bureaucracy to mange funds. Reid said maybe create something like the Tenessess Valley Authroity. I think Dims are more concerned with spending money to increase government bureaucracy instead of spending it on Hurricane victims.

BUSH IGNORES HURRICANE WARNING; EVERYONE DEADWomen, Children, & the Poor Hardest Hit
To: SoFloFreeper
If the politicians in charge were only semi-competent and marginally crooked like most of the nation (instead of the LA norm of completely incomptent and thouroughly corrupt), the levees would have held and the headlines would be about the disaster in Miss. and Ala. where the hurricane hit hardest.

HURRICANE IGNORES DEMOCRAT WARNING; THOUSANDS MUST REMAIN RELIANT ON GUVMENT FOR VOTES
Busing Plan To Polls Still In Place
To: frankjr
Actually, they want to bypass FEMA and send it directly to the coffers of the crooked politicians who are most responsible for the NO disaster.

You're right - except of course, that FOUR hurricanes hit Florida last year and Jeb Bush was everywhere getting information and ascertaining needs, even to the point, I think, of telling his brother "don't come right now, you'll hinder rescue efforts."
And you know, I don't remember people bitching about FEMA either last year. Come to think of it, I haven't hear the people in Alabama and Mississippi bitching about FEMA (if I'm wrong on this, please correct before I disseminate in error).

Funny, I sent the same sentiments to CNN in an email this morning during Daybreak. I asked where were all their elite reporters from Atlanta, and where was Nancy Pelosi's comments during all the suffering in Florida last year. I told them if Florida's governor had failed so miserably last year they would be down here like white on rice. I also mentioned that all this gleeful finger pointing was going to bite them back where there is no sunshine. ;D!
Haven't had a response. zzzzzz

I can assure you history will record that thousands of lives perished due to the malingering, mismanagement, and sheer stalling by the Louisiana gubner and New Orleans mayor.
They couldn't have killed more people if they had tried.
They had at least 3 days to preposition food, water, and medical supplies and beef up law enforcement with the National Guard and LE from surrounding states.
They are criminals.

Actually, I think Jeb Bush probably would have been about a thousand times more effective than Blanco, saving a lot more lives in the process, and therefore there wouldn't be as much political mud to sling.
