Ghostly Apparations "Boo-ed" by Restauranteurs
Orlando: Two restauranteurs have refused to move into the newly-renovated Church Street Station entertainment complex, "because it's haunted."
According to the attorney for the restaurant owners ,"sub-contractors and other people" have reported seeing "ghosts or other apparitions" at the site.
The attorney for the landlord says he asked them "..if these were good ghosts or bad ghosts, and if they were good ghosts, why it was a problem".
The restaurant owners - who claim to be devout Jehovah's Witnesses-say their religion forbids them to have anything to do with spirits or demons, and they are opposed to exorcism "because it is a Roman Catholic ritual".
The premises where the restaurant is supposed to open has been one of the Orlando Ghost Tours attractions since 2001, and is visited regularly by tourists seeking an other-worldly thrill.
Can you say : " Publicity stunt ? " I thought you could !
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic , an inebriated woman managed to star in her own production of " Things that go bump in the night "
Brussels: A 33 year-old woman , who had quaffed quite a few too many, decided to take a shortcut through a cemetery on her way home from the bar.
It was dark and private there, and the woman needed to relieve herself rather urgently ; so she crouched between the tombstones: grabbing one for support.
The headstone - quite a large and impressive one - toppled over : pinning her underneath. Unable to escape , the micturating maiden suffocated.
( Not a good place - or a particularly good way to go ! )
Speaking of unpleasant surprises----------------
London: Documents released by the National Archives reveal Nazi saboteurs had designed a number of them:
A chocolate bar - designed to explode seven seconds after a piece was boken off;
Bombs designed to look like canned plums, throat lozenges, shaving brushes, batteries, wood, coal , and (Achtung !) Stuffed Dogs !
Fortunately, none of these secret weapons was ever used - outside of a "James Bond " story -or British cemeteries might have been even more crowded.
On the bright side, her bladder was emptied. ;)
Like the story of the man who died alone of the shock of a frightful nightmare, one has to wonder who's telling the story.
One would think a haunted restaurant would bring in more customers. Talk about the easy advertising and theme nights.
I live in Orlando. Notice no names mentioned. Have never heard squat about this. Story is made up BS
That's for sure!
I'm beginning to think that much of what purports to be "news" is simply some dufus testing the waters for a novel. ;)
Story is off AP wires. I normally delete names (a) to avoid further embarassment to some; (b) giving unwarranted publicity to others.
Haunted? Right. I'll believe that when my tenderloin starts making groaning noises (before, not after).
If, during the renovation of the building, some prankster buried a small loudspeaker in the wall wired to some place offsite, and strategically hid a small light bulb behind a pinhole opening in a wall wired the same way, he could really "haunt" the place with voices and flickering shadows.
I consider all Jehovah's Witnesses Anti-American, which begs the question why anyone would want to even frequent this place. Would be nice to know the name of the restaurant so as never to darken their doorstep the next time I visit the Orlando area. And isn't it against their religion to even own or operate this restaurant? Or is it one of those "do as I say, not as I do", religions?
Just as an FYI, the reason for my opinion of them is as follows,
" According to their beliefs, the Bible forbids having any false idols before God; and since all human governments are ultimately instituted by Satan, pledging to them would be a sin."
Jehovah's Witnesses are very much believers that demonic forces can effect certain places or people. I don't think this story is a hoax because I have personal contacts thru family members who are Witnesses and I know they take it seriously.
As for them being forbidden to own a restaurant..surely you are kidding? There's nothing in that religion that says that.
My family members who are Witnesses are good and decent people. I don't agree with their religion but I don't doubt their sincerity and committment to trying to lead a life based on biblical principles as they see them.
My feeling is that many Witnesses are obessed with finding the devil in too many places and manifesting evil as "demons". So this story, as odd as it sounds, probably is true.
Ghost Ping!
No exorcism for you!!!
"Hey, dude! Ya wanta get rid of the ghosts, or not?"
